If this is your first time I think you should ask for a free Vacation planning video on the Disney website. It tells you a lot about the parks hotels and which park and hotel is right for your family.

We've been to Disney literally dozens of times and have stayed at just about every resort there. Our favorites are Animal Kingdom Lodge (deluxe resort), Coronado Springs (moderate) and Pop Century (value). Since its your 1st time, I would say to really get the most out of your trip, you would probably want to stay at least 5 days. That will give you 1 day at each park, and one extra day for just hanging out at the hotel, going to Downtown Disney (which is free to get in!) or going to one of the water parks. I think too that the best time of year to go is in the Fall. There are less crowds, its not as hot and humid, and you miss most of the rainstorms. There are a ton of websites that will help you plan your trip to Disney. One of my favorite is Allears.net Have fun!

I like the person who says their family loves the Jamaica resort. There is no Jamaica resort. I think they mean the Caribbean Beach.

At any rate, if it is your first time and you will be staying at a Disney hotel, I would book a package deal from Disney. You can use their website to play around and get an idea of prices.

There are three levels of Disney resorts, Value, Moderate, and Deluxe, and there are also the Vacation Club resorts, which anyone can stay at, not just Vacation Club members. The levels are increasing in price, so price is a very big determinate about where you should stay. At the Value resorts, Pop Century is generally considered to be the nicest. But other than that, you will get tons of debate about which hotel is better. I recommend looking at this: http://allears.net/acc/faq_hot.htm

Disney World is made up of four parks. I personally don't like Animal Kingdom much and don't normally go. And I still would recommend going for at least 4 days. My favorite trips are when we go for about 10-12 days.

If you can go during times when most kids are in school, that is the best crowd levels (except for major holidays). January or February, September after Labor Day, for example.

Airlines - well, since I don't know where you are, I don't know what airlines fly to Orlando. I always prefer to take a direct flight if possible, no matter which airline. Layovers/change overs obviously take more travel time.

If you are on a budget--I would stay at pop century---it's the value resort that is my favorite. If you want a little more luxury. I like the Polynesian and the Beach Club. If it's your first time 7-10 days. Go to www.allearsnet.com they are great!!

I have tried many hotels and have visited most of them to see if I wanted to stay. My favourite is the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I really don't think you can do bette for a Disney hotel. I have stayed there four times and would go every year if I could.

well this all depends on how much money you can afford to spend.
my recommendations:
value hotel which is $82 per night and up-i like pop century
moderate hotel which is $149 per night and up-i like caribbean beach
deluxe hotel which is $225 per night and up-i like the contemporary

as for how long to stay:
i'd say:
2 days magic kingdom
1 day hollywood studios
1 day epcot
1 day animal kingdom (note i don't like animal kingdom but you might)

so for at least 5 days.
but i would also recommend 1 day to relax at the hotel and 1 day to devote to shopping and doing stuff at downtown disney.

so idealy you would want to stay for a week.

when to go:
all these times are great-
sept
oct
nov
first half of dec
second half of jan
feb
march.
not too hot nor too cold and not much in the way of rain. usually sunny most days and all day long.

also i recommend getting the disney dining plan. it is soooo worth it!

stay at Pop Century Value Resort, purchase Disney's Basic Dining Plan, stay at least 4 whole days because there are 4 great amusement parks to visit!, use Disney's Magical Express, I go to WDW every September and I just got back yesterday! the weather was perfect and crowds were minimal

You should stay at the contemporary resort! It is awesome! You can see the monorail going through the hotel, eat breakfast with Mickey every morning and just go to bed with views of Cinderella's castle!

You can read about it at http://www.orlandofuntickets.com/Disney-Contemporary-Resort.php

Have fun!

Hi! Definitely stay at Disney World's Port Orleans, Riverside!
It's one of their moderate resorts so it's not too expensive but really nice. Your paying alot to go to Disney so you don't need to pay alot for a room where your only going to spend a few hours there at night to sleep.
They have multiple pools, little bar next to the pool (alcholic and non alcoholic drinks), a huge dining hall where you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have a resturant, a bar a lobby and a really nice gift shop!
I have been to Disney multiple times and have always stayed here; my family and I love it!

Here's the link! Perfect for a family of 4!!

Hope this helps!
Have a grreat trip!

Disney's Pop Century Resort is really nice! I stayed there and had a blast! They have buses that can ride you to the park, an awesome food court, and like three awesome pools!

Check it out: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/resorts/resortLanding?id=PopCenturyResortLandingPage&bhcp=1

About a week and a half is a decent time to stay so that you can make sure you make the most of your stay but you don't have to rush going to all of the parks.

The time of year doesn't matter to much although you should probably avoid hurrican season just in case.

American Airlines is nice but you should probably go with what is cheapest.

I went in the summer when I first moved to Orlando. It was horrible. Hot and sticky with long lines. Nothing like being around hot and tired children. I went in February and it was great. I would go Oct-April. Stay on the Disney property. Look at their hotels and decide what theme you want to go with. They are all good. Have fun.

For the family of four I suggest the Disney Value Resorts "Movies" they are inexpensive and the food courts are great. If you're looking for a family suite I suggest the Disney Music Value Resort. Perks you get are free parking at all the disney parks, or free bus transportation by Disney to and from the parks. You should really look online at the maps of the parks and get a plan together what days you hit what parks. You will not see everything on this first visit to Disney. Stay a week on the first or second week of September everyone is going back to school/work and there are no lines. You can really enjoy the time you are spending with your family. Enjoy

Girly girl--there's an easy to use site for first time visitors to Disney World that answers all your questions...including maybe some you haven't thought of yet!! Take a look at http://yourfirstvisit.net

Quick answers: Stay at the Polynesian if you can afford it, Pop Century if you can't; if you have time, go for 8 nights and 9 days; go in early December, or in 2009 late April/early May, late Ocotber thru mid-Decemebr (excluding Thgvg week)!!

Chekc the site out, hope this helps, and have a great trip!! Dave

My recommendation is to move around to enjoy the parks. Spend two night in the Magic Kingdom at one of those resorts. While there, enjoy being a ferry ride away from the park. I recommend the Polynesian. From there go to EPCOT and one of those resorts. The Beach Club is very nice and like the others, within walking distance to the park. For your last stop, go to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and enjoy being able to look out over the park and all of the animals.
My family prefers to move around because they get to enjoy more than one resort and all of the conveniences of not having to get on the buses. Moving around like that will get you a week in the happiest place on earth and let you see everything.
As far as the best time to go, we prefer the summer because otherwise you don't get to enjoy the resort pools or Disney's waterparks. Disney's Magic Express works with pretty much all of the airlines. They don't list Southwest but my sister had no problems. Have a great trip.

Well, when my family goes, we stay at the "Jamaica" Resort. It has decent sized rooms, is near the beach, has a pool, beautiful scenery, and a bus stop near by, that can get you to any of the parks fast and easy!
Um... I would say... stay at least a week if you want to be able to get to all the park and ride everything you want!
I'm not sure about the airlines though...
Hope I helped!
