The people in Houston are definitely friendlier. Dallas is prettier but Houston is more pleasant to live in.

Houston is an international city, it is Better

Houstonians are nicer. Houston's economy is growing faster than Dallas'. This is one of those Continental versus American airlines questions. It is a matter of preference. I prefer Houston. Oh yeah, Houston has something Dallas doesn't. Lots of trees!

Tony
Each has its good points, but I prefer Houston by and large. And don't worry about hurricanes--Houston hasn't had one since Alicia in 1983 (flooding is a bigger problem--it doesn't take much rain to fill an intersection).

If you search for this question in Y!A!, you'll find a ton more answers, because it gets asked weekly.

Houston, no question.

I've visited Dallas when needed, but would not choose to live there.

Haha...if you're a NASCAR fan like the previous poster, Santa Fe (about a 30 minutes drive from downtown) is getting a NASCAR track of its own. For now you can go to Houston Raceway out in Baytown and watch the Spring Nationals...good stuff!!!

Dallas, it has a nearby NASCAR track!! Go Kenseth #17

Seriously, they are both good cities. Real estate is cheap in both. Both have a great job market. Both are big cities with lots of sports, arts, dining, and entertainment.

Dallas/Ft.Worth is less humid with the possibility of the occasional snow fall.

Houston is muggy hot in the summer but everything is air conditioned. I like it because it is close to beaches and salt water.

EDIT: Shellie, they were also going to build one out on Highway 105 in Montgomery County. I will believe either one when I see the groundbreaking. Texas Speedway is up and running. I sure hope you are correct though! The quarter mile does rule . Go Team Force!!

I have travel all over and there is no place like home!

Dallas is full of trash people with money, not a lot of diversity there either and no beach around.

DCDARLING
Employment is better in Houston, there is more culture here, and Dallas people thing they are better than everyone else for some add reason....

i loved dallas for it's weather only, i'ts cooler and occasionally snows, you'll never see snow in houston, oh but you can count on hurricanes.
