The people in Houston are definitely friendlier. Dallas is prettier but Houston is more pleasant to live in. |

Houstonians are nicer. Houston's economy is growing faster than Dallas'. This is one of those Continental versus American airlines questions. It is a matter of preference. I prefer Houston. Oh yeah, Houston has something Dallas doesn't. Lots of trees! |

Each has its good points, but I prefer Houston by and large. And don't worry about hurricanes--Houston hasn't had one since Alicia in 1983 (flooding is a bigger problem--it doesn't take much rain to fill an intersection). |

If you search for this question in Y!A!, you'll find a ton more answers, because it gets asked weekly. |

Houston, no question.
I've visited Dallas when needed, but would not choose to live there.
Haha...if you're a NASCAR fan like the previous poster, Santa Fe (about a 30 minutes drive from downtown) is getting a NASCAR track of its own. For now you can go to Houston Raceway out in Baytown and watch the Spring Nationals...good stuff!!! |

Dallas, it has a nearby NASCAR track!! Go Kenseth #17
Seriously, they are both good cities. Real estate is cheap in both. Both have a great job market. Both are big cities with lots of sports, arts, dining, and entertainment.
Dallas/Ft.Worth is less humid with the possibility of the occasional snow fall.
Houston is muggy hot in the summer but everything is air conditioned. I like it because it is close to beaches and salt water.
EDIT: Shellie, they were also going to build one out on Highway 105 in Montgomery County. I will believe either one when I see the groundbreaking. Texas Speedway is up and running. I sure hope you are correct though! The quarter mile does rule . Go Team Force!! |
