Which city would be the better choice?

My friend and I decided months ago to go on spring break together. It's the first week in April. She wants to go to San Francisco, CA, and I want to go to Los Angeles, CA. We would probably go from thursday to the following Monday. What kinds of things would be worthwhile and fun to see and do in each of these places? I have been to both before, she has not. I don't want websites, I want real people giving their opinions and/or experiences, to help me take charge of this situation and make the final decision of where to go. Thanks.

Well, I live in San Francisco, but I go to UCLA.

I would have to say San Francisco is the better choice. There are so many inexpensive things to do.

Zoo, Pier 39, Museums, Wine Country, Golden Gate Bridge/Park, Chinatown, Japantown, Coit Tower, North Beach, Alcatraz, Lombard, Castro, Market Street, Union Square, Ghiradelli Square, the parrots of Telegraph Hill, better public transportation, smaller city = more things to do and see in a limited amount of time (most of those things on the list can be done in one day).

I'm a 5th generation native San Franciscan, so I may be biased. San Francisco has better views, air, and history. Ride the cable cars to Fisherman's Wharf. However, Los Angeles (& surrounding areas) have Hollywood, Disneyland, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Sunset Blvd., and many other attractions.

my friends are going to LA.
They have had it planned out for months. They planned out each day of spring break and they still have more stuff they want to do. It sounds amazing, I would go with LA.

You need to got Lake Havasu in Arizona and stay at the London Bridge Hotel on the Colorado River I had been everywhere for spring break I went there last year and had a blast we are going again this year. Have fun sweetie hope to see you there :)

I've been to both. Los Angeles just seemed like a dirty little city. San Diego was beautiful. But EVERYONE should experience San Francisco. Whe I was there the street venders were selling sunflowers and the cafes were serving iced peach tea. San Francisco is an amazing place with lots of history. The people were happy and friendly and beautiful. I will never forget it. Been there twice.

Well I just got back from California... it is freezing fricking cold in San Francisco right now. If you really want to see SF then I would go and spend some time in China Town and walking around the shops and museums there. They are great. Mitchells Ice Cream is a must to go for dessert.

Then I would take the tram and go to San Deigo or LA where it is warm. My goodness the things to do there are limitless. Just make sure you stay on the good side of town in both places. Try not to look like a tourist.

San Francisco!
I live in Sacramento, a couple hours away from san fran. And I wish I could go there more. It is amazing. Though the traffic can be rather long, I think it is completely worth the time. Everybody there is so laid back and friendly, the whole scene is just calm and relaxing. It's close to the ocean, so the weather is perfect in my opinion. You can take the trolly around the city, and pretty much do anything. I'm sure you'll meet some great people along the way aswell.
Los Angeles, on the other hand, is overrated in my opinion. I've been there many times and have had great experiences, but I don't think it holds a candle to SF. It's very crowded and stuffy. I think many people are drawn there for movie stars and lights, but I would rather go to san francisco any day.
Hope you have fun!

P.S. This is kind of ironic because just a few hours ago you were giving me advice about Washington haha. Thank you very much for your opinions :]

I prefer San Fran it is truly a beautiful city. Excellent weather, interesting culture, and not to crowded. Plenty to do, and not too far from Muir woods national park. Alcatraz is also right there. Further there are excellent sights just north along the coast.

I like both the places and you can enjoy a lot.I prefer Chicago compared to these places and whenever I go there,I used to stay in my friend Bush's house or Clinton's house.
All the best.
