Luxor. Palace Station is off the Strip on Sahara. Getting older but has been rehabbed. It's a huge local place with a great bingo hall, but you'll be happier with the Luxor which is on the Strip. |

Luxor. It's all about the location. It is on the strip. the Palace is more geared toward the locals. And the architecture alone is another great reason to stay. The hotel rooms are built like the pyramid, the rooms are built on top of each other at an angle to go inward to make the pyramid. But if you are deathly afraid of heights, dont stay here bcus once you walk out of you room you get a view of the casino floor and the drop is straight down because the rooms below you are inverted and set back.
the stratoshpere is far from the "heart" of the strip and taking a taxi is expensive. The Duece double decker bus is $5 a day. The Stratosphere is not a great place for night life. Great night life would be the MGM Grand 54 or just walking the strip on the opposite end of the strip from the stratosphere. But the Deluxe rooms at the stratosphere are fine. |

definitely the luxor. i have been to the palace, but have not stayed there. the casino is run-down and kind of smells, which makes me think that the rooms would be the same. the luxor is nice, clean, has good restaurants, etc. |

I have stayed at the Luxor many times. It's not the best but better than Palace Station in my opinion. Plus you are close to Mandalay Bay which has great resturaunts and clubs. |

I have not stayed at Luxor but i have stayed at Palace Station. The only draw back for the Luxor is having to catch the tram to get to and from. It is a cool casino though. I was very impressed with Palace Station for the price. The rooms in the tower are all remodeled. It is not to far from the strip and they also have a shuttle that will take you to and from the airport and the strip. I think the only advantage that the Luxor has over Palace Station is that it is on the strip but it too has a challenge of getting there via tram. Save your money and stay at Palace Station |

The Luxor is a great hotel. There's something to be said for sleeping in a pyramid. It's also connected to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. It's actually between both of them. You're going to have a great trip.
Yes, the Luxor is on the strip. You're going to have a blast. |

LUXOR HANDS DOWN!
Palace Station is located near downtown and is kind of, ehhh..., the older crowd.
If you are looking for a hip and young place to stay you will definitely want to stay along the Strip. Luxor is a great option because it is kind of smack dab in the middle of everything and walking distance to all of the best attractions. The Luxor is a newer hotel compared to Palace Station.
Luxor is definitely up and coming when it comes to it's nightclub/nightlife scene as well. So, it would be nice to walk out of your room and be able to have a great night "out on the town" just outside your door. Luxor is HOT HOT HOT for nightlife. There is LAX, which is extremely popular for celebrities, and Cathouse is one of the newer restaurants that is a popular hot spot as well. Plus, there are great dining options. T&T is the newest Mexican restaurant on the Strip and it is super popular. PLUS, there is a new show there by Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil. It hasn't gotten the BEST of reviews...but if it is right outside of your room, why not give it a shot. I saw Le Reve last time I was in Vegas and I highly recommend it, but it's at the Wynn. But, definitely make sure to get your tickets 1) ahead of time and 2) at a discount. I got my tickets here: http://www.bestofvegas.com. They have really good discounts on all the Cirque Shows, including Criss Angel Believe. |

Luxor is on the strip, albeit the south side. But, you are right next to Mandalay Bay. There is a monorail in front of the casino that will leave you close by/ in walking distance of NyNy, MGM, and Tropicana. Since it is an older property, their rates are way better than other strip casinos. |

While the Luxor is a nicer property, getting a suite at Palace Station might offer a nicer overall experience than a standard room in the Luxor, and at the same or lower price.
The top floor of Palace Station is all recently remodeled suites. And being off the strip (Palace Station is about 2 miles west of the strip, on Sahara Ave.) can be a benefit rather than a drawback if you want your home property to be a little bit less hectic than the strip properties.
I've stayed at the Luxor 3 times and actually booked a suite at Palace Station in December 2007, but changed my mind and switched to Treasure Island after deciding against staying off strip with a rental car. (I walked everywhere during that trip.) |

Even though its not that great, the Luxor far surpasses Palace Station. I have stayed at both.
Palace station isnt terrible, but its fairly limited and kinda worn down looking. The casino sucks.
The luxor is overated in my opinion. But still your better choice of the two. There are so many great deals right now, you probably could find a good rate on a better place. |

try to get a room in the east towers overlooking the strip |

The Luxor is actually on the strip which gives it a great advantage. Much easier to get around if you are not driving. You will have to take the free tram to the Exaclibur each time to get you closer to the big four corner of LV Blvd and Tropicana. You can walk it but it is quite a walk. Stay at the Luxor. |
