Caesar's Palace. MGM is too huge, Planet Hollywood is just the old Aladdin renamed. Caesar's has lots and lots of history, beautiful rooms, great restaurants and the best hotel shopping mall there is. |

Most luxurious: Caesars
Best value: mgm
Best location on strip: Caesars + Planet hollywood
Fun factor: Planet hollywood
You can't go wrong with any of the three, I would also add Mirage and Paris to the list. |

I've stayed at Harrahs. (basic rooms, no frills, inexpensive) Tables are fun. Easy to get in and out of the hotel and right in the middle of the action.
I've also stayed at Mandalay Bay. Very very nice. Cool rooms, great bathroom, super view. Casinso was neat and very large. Lots of places to eat. And the pool kicks total ***. The location is not that great. You are at the far end of the strip so if you want to see Paris, Mirage, Ceasars etc. you have to walk a long way or take a cab. |

All are fine but I really like MGM because of the great pool scene!

1. Caesars: large place, opulent, lots to see
2. Planet Hollywood: Younger crowd, fast paced, loud
3. MGM Grand: Large place, fairly family friendly, lots of Hollywood Memorabilia |

Caesars Palace. The overall ambiance of this hotel is so opulent; I love it.
2nd would be MGM Grand I like this hotel but its too far down the strip, I wouldn't rule out staying there though. |

1. Caesars palace - Cool decor and shops. Great location in the middle of the strip. I like to walk around the place and look at it. Only place on the strip where I've seen Rock Stars and Actors. This is a really good hotel and I'd stay here any day.
2. planet hollywood. - Big Time super cool place. Problem is you'll never get into any of the super cool clubs without reservations. Money helps, as the last time I was there the bouncer said it took $200 for a guy to get in. Hot Girls get in free and quickly. Also it's off the strip and not a good place if you want to go sight seeing. I'm not into the Hollywood Celebrity scene so I'm not going to stay here as it's not on the strip.
3. mgm grand - BIG place. Has everything you'll ever need. If you like walking this is your place as it's huge. It's a nice place but close to the end of the strip and you'll need your walking shoes if your going sight seeing. This is a really good hotel and I'd stay here any day.
My favorites are.
New York, New York - across from MGM (rooms are nicer)
Golden Nugget - downtown (Great Place)
Flamingo - across from Caesars. Rooms are cheaper but not as nice.

PLANET HOLLYWOOD.. It's one of the new hotels, it's so beautiful INSIDE & OUT. not only OUT, like most vegas hotels are. There is also a built in mall linked to the hotel, (MIRACLE MILE SHOPS) and has a lot of cool things. |

I'd say:
1. Caesar's palace. Way fancier, a great mall; it's just nice. Nice location on the strip
2. MGM Grand. Fun to look around. A little far of the strip...too much walking
3. Planet Hollywood. Great Buffet!!!! Great location on the strip |

Just to clarify, all three of these hotels are on the strip. Caesar's and Planet Hollywood are very centrally located, where MGM is slightly south of the center of the strip. It takes all of 15 minutes to walk from MGM Grand to Planet Hollywood. Then it is about a 5 minute walk from Planet Hollywood to Caesar's.
1. Caesar's Palace is supposed to be very nice, and in my mind, I consider it a Las Vegas staple. You can find rooms from around $120/night on weekdays. It has a huge mall attached that is fun to look through even if you don't plan on buying anything. It takes up a majority of it's side of the strip and is situated between Bellagio and the Mirage.
2. Planet Hollywood is supposed to be new and hip with nice rooms and a very modern feel. It has the Miracle Mile shops, and a nice looking casino, but the casino doesn't seem very big. They do house one of the best buffet's though. I usually see their room specials around $89-$99/night. It is located between the Hawaiian Marketplace and Paris. You can see the Bellagio fountains from here.
3. MGM Grand is supposed to be the place to be. They have a lot of popular clubs and I like their casino. It is huge and easy to get lost in. There is also a monorail station inside MGM Grand. You can find specials here from $69/night.
Out of the three I would choose MGM Grand. I enjoy staying on the south end of the strip because it is slightly off the beaten path, but still an easy walk to anything. I usually stay at Excalibur which is right across the street. To find the specials noted above, use this website http://smartervegas.com/ |

residence inn off dean martin blvd (on the other side of the freeway behind luxor) because...
1) it's near the strip
2) free shuttle to other hotels and airport
3) you can get a 2 bedroom suite for $129
4) you get a fully functional kitchen
5) you can give them your grocery list and they'll pick up everything and put in the room for you (no extra charge)
6) free wifi
7) free, hot breakfast buffet every morning
8) pool, basketball court, tennis court
9) nice employees, very personal service
10) it's like having an apartment because the rooms have a livingroom and kitchen and you can throw a decent party because the walls are thick enough - haha |
