Blizzard Beach is geared more toward the teen demographic. There are more thrill slides and body slides. Also, It is probably my imagination, but it seems like the water there is colder! Lol. I don't know if you have read the stories behind the parks on Disney's site, but the theme behind Blizzard Beach is that there was a freak snowstorm in Orlando, and some guys built a ski resort. Then the snow melted, and now we have all these water rides. There's even a ski lift up to the tallest slide in the park! I like Blizzard beach because of its family raft ride and its water roller coaster. However, I find it harder to get around.
Typhoon Lagoon has less thrill rides, more tube rides. There is a place where you can rent snorkel gear and "swim with the sharks" (They're actually behind glass, but you could never tell). There is also an awesome wave pool. The theme behind this park is that there was a typhoon in Florida. (Disney really seems to like the weather and natural disasters). Both parks have awesome lazy rivers, but I believe Typhoon Lagoon's is longer, and it actually takes you places! Typhoon Lagoon is better if you have small children or want to relax, whereas Blizzard Beach definitely has a faster pace. They shoot cold water at you in the lazy river, for goodness sakes!
I love both these parks and always have a hard time deciding which one to go to. Good luck, and Have fun!! |

I have been to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. In my opinion, Typhoon Lagoon has more of the family-friendly rides, as in, rides for all ages. I would recommend this for younger children. Blizzard Beach (my favorite) has more of the exciting rides, especially high-speeds and high, "scary" slides. If your family is into more thrills and your children are a bit older, this park would be more recommended.
Both are great parks and you'll definitely have a great time wherever you choose to go. Have a fun vacation! |

Wow. My parents and brother will be there next week too. Lucky you. We are impartial to Blizzard Beach.
Typhon Lagoon is great if you like more thrill but if you are more into less thrill but still a great time, Blizzard Beach is the best. I also find it cleaner than Typhoon. |

I preferred the lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon, and the wave pool is awesome. The lines at Blizzard Beach are too long (as if that isn't the case every where at Disney), it seemed, and I am not sure why. But eaither park is a great time. |

Blizzard Beach is the beast water park in Disney, can't comment on Typhoon Lagoon since I've never been to that one but it is older than Blizzard Beach. |

I'm a Native Floridian...and live about 35 minutes from the parks. I've been to both water parks (even River Country before they closed that one down) and I can recommend a park based on your priorities. If you want to be able to do more of the water park with smaller kids, Typhoon Lagoon is the better park. It is less crowed, they have a special place for little ones, but most of the attractions are still ok for kids...the lazy river, the family slides, etc. And if you get there early (and I do recommend, especially this time of year, to have your ticket in advance and at the gate 15 min before the park opens) you can pick a nice spot under a palm tree with lounge chairs and maybe a hammock.
If you want more thrill slides, and don't mind a larger crowd, Blizzard Beach is a lot of fun. Faster slides, but not as many options for tucking away in a little corner for some R&R. If you have little ones, you'll be confined to mostly the tot's swimming area as there aren't as many family friendly rides there. Some, but not as many.
Enjoy the trip...Mickey will treat you well. And pay attention to the weather forecast for the week (this time of year you never know :) Plenty of sun block...the water proof kind, even for the days you're in the other parks. With the humidity and heat you'll sweat the regular stuff right off :) Comfortable shoes, plan lots of breaks...you'll enjoy what you do see much better. |

River Country.
Sadly, it's been closed and mothballed for years.
I like Typhoon Lagoon. It's smaller and better themed, in my opinion.
If you like water thrill rides, then you want Blizzard Beach. |

We have been to Blizzard Beach the last 2 times we've gone. Mostly because Typhoon Lagoon was closed do to the time of year.
But we like Blizzard Beach and you can't beat the "Garbage Pail" sundae that they serve. Four of us eat it and if fills us up.
Have fun. You really can't go wrong with either water park. |

It depends on what you like, as far as looks Blizzard Beach is the best. Althoug you're nice and warm in the water, it looks snowy all around you. Typhoon Lagoon is amazing, it has a clear pond-pool around the entire park that you can snorkel in like you're in Mexico. It also has a surf pool, where you surf instead of float |

Typhoon Lagoon, have any of these people answering ever been to Typhoon Lagoon? I have been to both and I still think that Typhoon Lagoon is better. |

definatly "Blizzard Beach"! I LOVE disney world! we go atleast once a year for a week! i absolutly LOVE the place! i would definatly recommend Blizzard Beach, i find it to be the best out of both of them...Typhoon Lagoon is bascially just a place to swim, with SOME rides...but Blizzard Beach is just awesome! plus its alot NEWER than Typhoon Lagoon!
Have fun! |

Depends on what you're looking for? They are both cool, so I don't think you can go wrong. Typhoon Lagoon has some more casual relaxing areas, where as Blizzard beach has some more exciting and intense rides. If I were you, I'd base your decision on that.
*Seeing as how there is only Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon at Disney World, I'm not sure why all of these answers are getting thumbs down? Does somebody out there have a vendetta against water parks in general?? |
