Which is the better place to stay in Vegas? The Luxor or Flamingo?

I know there are tons of other places to stay but these two have the best deal. My bf and I are going there for the first time. We would rather stay at an okay hotel then spend more money on night life, food, and catching a few shows. So, in ur opinion which of the two would be the best? If you know a better place with a cheap rate please feel free to let me know!

The Flamingo puts you right in the center of the strip. It is older but if you plan on walking the strip then that would be the best choice.

The Flamingo is right in the centre of the strip and the Luxor is at the South end so for location probably the Flamingo, I haven't stayed there but I did enjoy the Luxor

The Flamingo by far, has the better location. The pools are closed this time of year so that does not matter. There are basically four grades of hotel/casinos on the Strip. The top end ones are the Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian, Palazzo and Mandalay Bay. The very good are Treasure Island, Caesars, Mirage, Paris, Planet Hollywood and MGM Grand. The good ones are Bally's, Harrah's, New York/NewYork, Monte Carlo, Excalibur and Flamingo. The Fair are Excalibur, Stratosphere, and Circus/Circus. The old and the poor are Sahara, Riviera, Tropicana and Imperial Palace.

i just booked 4 nights at the flamingo for me & my bf... i was doing my head in there were just so many options to look at!! i got a really good deal on the Flamingo, (considering we are going over a weekend) - ended up getting our 4th night free so the room rate averages about $70 for a deluxe room, if you want the link message me

The Luxor has inclinators instead of elevators. The poker room is better. It has a free tram to the Mandalay Bay.

Personally, I prefer The Flamingo. I don't know when you are going, but the pools at Flamingo are awesome and you can't beat it's center strip location. If you can afford it, stay in one of the "GO" rooms. They come with super thick comfy beds with down pillows. There is a 42 " plasma TV and stereo with CD/ DVD player in the room and in the bathroom a small TV built into the mirror! The rooms at Luxor are nice, but average.

I would say Flamingo, its been around for the longest. Luxor is pretty good, but Flamingo looks more attractive and it has a flamingo theme. The Luxor's theme is more Egyptian. But it depends on you as well.

The Flamingo.. BY FAR.

Better location, nicer rooms, better pool, better food. ect ect. The Luxor has a slightly younger crowd, but I am young and still enjoyed the flamingo alot more. The luxor also has a club, and more nightlife, but I could care less about wasting my money at cluby places.

Flamingo-mainly because of location.

The "Flamingo" been there & done that.A great location.....i wasn't sure about the bamboo carpet in the hallway but i truely enjoyed my stay there at the Flamingo. The Luxor......never been there.

The Flamingo is an older Hotel but because of its mid strip location you will get more bang for your buck and the pool is awesome, probably the best in town.

LoyalKarla
the flamingo is crappy
go to the luxor
and go to the BELIEVE show there its about a illusionist CRISS ANGEL
you''ll love him

Luxor is the better property. Except for the "Go" rooms at the Flamingo, it's pretty much a dump.

Luxor has all of the amenities, the hottest club LAX, dining, etc. The pool is great the way the pyramid slopes down towards you. Better shows, Cris Angel, Fantasy, and Carrot Top.

As far as location goes, it's pretty easy to get everywhere on the strip. I personally like the fact that its a little less congested by Luxor. However, as soon as you walk to the corner, you are in all of the action. (Excalibur, NYNY, MGM Grand & Tropicana).

Try Luxor and you won't be disappointed. Enjoy your stay.

Luxor definetly! Best buffet you will ever eat at! The buffet room is the size of a ballroom. Super yummy and every kind of food you can imagine. Not too expensive either!
