Which is the cheapest State to live in the States?

If we can't afford to live in a particular place, the best thing is to pack up and leave.it is believed that kentucky is the cheapest place
to live in the nation, but the State itself is mostly rural and there is not much activity going on.the most expensive State would be California if you folks agree with me on that.

Any outskirts area in the south or midwest will be farily cheap

I have a 1700 sq ft house that I paid 100,000.00 for in texas.
the same size house would cost you 500,000+ in california

Clearly everyone has a different opinion about this. Kansas is a good state also. Depending on where it can be quite inexpensive.

But compared to California, almost anywhere inland is inexpensive. So you have a lot to pick from.

Wyoming is cheap (so I've been told).

This is a complete assumption on my part, but I imagine that Montana is the cheapest. I know that you pay the same for a condo in New York that you would for a ranch in, say, Oklahoma. So, any rural area will have a low-cost of living.

In the 3rd quarter of 2005, Missouri had the 6th lowest cost of living in the United States (of the 48 states and the District of Columbia surveyed by ACCRA). In general, the most expensive areas to live are New England, Alaska, Hawaii, and the West Coast. The least expensive areas continue to be the Midwest and Southern States.
MERIC derives the cost of living index for each state by averaging the indices of participating cities and metropolitan areas in that state. Missouri's cost of living for the 3rd quarter 2005 was 90.2. Cities across the nation participate in ACCRA's survey on a volunteer basis. Price information in the survey is governed by ACCRA collection guidelines which strive for uniformity. No cities in Maine or New Hampshire participated last quarter.
