California is amazing, we are the most open state there is, i wish everywhere was like california. I actually didnt even know about racism until i was older because no one is...it just doesnt make sense to me.
i would never live in a state where most people were ill-educated, many were racist and sexist...i dont really care about weather, it's people's attitudes that get me. |

Leave me out of the southern part of the US. Too hot, too many snakes and no mountains to climb. |

Texas has a large precentage of nuts, and yet somehow they feel they are better than the rest of the country.
Oh and West Virginia is the trashiest state I've ever seen. |

I have a home in the United States. I'm happy I have a home, I'm not that picky about where it is. (I was raised non-Mormon in Utah -- if I can survive that and be a happy person, I can handle just about anything.) |

I'm a native Californian, and would like it here a lot more if all these transplants went away -- it's just ghastly here in places.
To your question . . . I would never live in Alaska because of the cold much of the year and darkness half of the year. And I would never live in Florida because of the humidity and the low IQs of many of the population. |

I'd just like to roam around in an RV visiting each state during its best season. I don't like staying one place very long, and don't like extreme weather of any kind. |

I call California the yo yo state because everyone I know that trys to live there comes back. It is too expensive and the people that live there are snobs is what I am told. So I will pass on that. Add in the earth quakes and riots etc I see no reason to go there. |

There is no state that I would never live in. I have visited 45 of the 50 states and liked all of them in one way or another. Incidentally, I live in Texas and have lived in Illinois, Colorado, New Mexico and Michigan. I have close ties to Wyoming.
If I had to live in one of the more isolated states such as Hawaii or Alaska, or in a state with severe cold weather, such as Alaska, North Dakota, Minnesota or Michigan, I would like to be able to escape. To the Lower 48 any time of the year or to a Southern state for a couple of months during the winter.
I have also lived in the Territory of Guam. Again, isolation is the worst problem in a place this small and this far from the Mainland, but there are always upsides to counter the downsides. |

Been to every state and I just can't deal with New Jersey.
I've heard it has nice areas but you have to go through hell to get there. Ugh. |

What a really cool question, and what interesting answers!
OK, so right now I live near Cleveland OH ... yep, the "Mistake by the Lake." Not by choice, I might add!
There are a lot of states I've never been to, so I'd have to answer just on their reputations alone. I really don't think I'd enjoy living in a place like Mississippi, or anywhere in the Deep South. That whole area of the country seems sooooo backward.
Also ... Kansas, Nebraska ... is there really anything there? |

I couldn't live in Florida or Texas or Hawaii, or any place that gets over 100 degrees in the summer, I'd die of heat |
