Which park would be better for a 4 year old MGM, Epcot or Animal Kingdom?

We are going in October and we are definatey going to WDW just can't decide which other attraction she would enjoy most for her age.

It really depends on your child.
One of the nice things about Epcot is the fact that they have a great Princess meal. Also, Soarin', Journey into Imagination, and The Seas with Nemo. Epcot also has some great character interaction.

Hollywood Studios (MGM) has Playhouse Disney, so if she watches that most mornings, she will love it. Also, the new Toy Story ride, and a wonderful Beauty and the Beast show.

Animal Kingdom has more shows than rides for that age, so if she doesn't like to sit, you may want to skip that park. If she loves animals, it is great. However, if you have a good zoo near home, you can see most of the animals at home.

I would love to help you plan a magical trip for your daugher. Feel free to contact me via my website!

I have to disagree with most of these people. I have two kids that I have taken many times to Disney from the time they were infants. At that age, my kids loved Epcot! Innovations, Figment, and the Land are all great for kids. So is Soarin' if they are tall enough. In the countries, and also in future world now, are Kidcot stops where you and your daughter can make masks together and collect stamps from each country. This has been something I have loved doing with my kids and my son, now 11, still talks about the different masks he has made. Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are both fun and both have things for kids that age, but my choice would be Epcot.

There are great things in each park for a 4 year old, but the least in Epcot, and the most in the Hollywood Studios.

The thumbnail on this page http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/basic-itinerary/comprehensive-guide-to-rides/ rates all the rides and attractions at all 4 Walt Disney World parks by both their appeal--or inappropriateness!--to little ones (up and down the thumbnail), and their appeal to everyone else (side to side on the thumbnail). The WDW rides etc are color coded by park so you can see which park has the most in the various categories.

Hope this helps and have a great trip!! Dave

I've been to the Disney parks with my son when he was 3 and 4, and I would say :
MGM ! (Hollywood Studios, now)
or maybe EPCOT, but not Animal Kingdom.

The animal exhibits in Animal Kingdom are quite boring and do not match a good zoo. At least it's what the whole family thinks...
Moreover, a 4 year old will not be able to ride Expedition Everest and will probably be scared by Dinosaur... at least both my daughter (8) and my son (4) were...
So in the end, there's not much left...

EPCOT will be ok for Test Track and Soaring mostly. My son enjoyed those rides, but was bored by the rest of the park.

That's why I think Hollywood Studios is best :
My 4 years old son could ride Star Tours and the Tower of Terror (he's tall enough) : he is a huge fan of both !
Then you have shows like Playhouse Disney, Indiana Jones, the car stunt show, etc... and of course the amazing Fantasmic!

Enjoy !

Disney Hollywood Studios (MGM) All the Playhouse Disney Shows are there.

Visit this site, it will give you tips on visiting Disney with a young child:

I would say either MGM or Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom has this really cool Kilimajaro Safaris that is really, really, fun. I took my children for the first time in 2006 they were four and two and they both really loved it. If you really want to check on the options go to disneyworld.com and they have every activity, restaurant and ride listed for each park with a description for each. There really are not many rides that she would not be able to ride, so it is a toss up. But truthfully the best place for her age is the Magic Kingdom they have the tea cups, peter pans ride, It's a small world, Winnie the Pooh's ride, Dumbo, Cinderella's carousel all of these my girls just loved. Good luck and hope you have a safe trip.

Fish are friends, not food (:
Animal Kingdom! make sure you do the animal tour thingging(:

MGM if she like adventure and playhouse disney. Animal Kingdom if she likes animals. I hope you guys have lots of fun. For an extra bonus in your trip, buy your daughter a princess pin trading kit. It is great when you don't want to buy her a souvenir, she can just trade one of her pins. Have a great time!

Depends on her interest.

Movies - MGM
Animals - Animal Kingdom
Anything unordinary - Epcot xD

But really though Animal Kingdom is more child-friendly in my opinion so if I had to choose an order it would go Animal Kingdom, MGM, and Epcot only because Epcot doesn't have much to offer for 4 year olds to enjoy.

Have fun!!!

I would say either Epcot or Animal Kingdom. MGM now Hollywood Studios not so much. Animal Kingdom is really just pretty to walk around, theres lots of shady areas with animal viewings everywhere. There's also Rafikis planet watch. Take the train over (the train inside the park) and there is a petting zoo of goats and lambs.
Epcot is nice to because they added kidcot stations to be more child friendly. The stations all throughout the park allow children to make a craft geared toward that country (mostly masks and coloring pages)
You should really go to whatever park you would like to becaue she will have fun at either one.

Well the good news is you cant pick the wrong one because they are all great and she will love every minute of it where ever you take her. As she is only 4 years old i would probably choose Animal Kingdom simply because of the animals , all kids love animals, dont they ?

Definitely Animal Kingdom! They have some great shows to watch, rides that she will enjoy, and lots of animals. Plus, you can eat lunch at the Rainforest Cafe there!

Angel
either epcot or animal kingdom, but probably animal kingdom. no matter where you take her, she will be sure to love every second of it. if she can remember it when she is older, she wont worry about which one she went to.

have fun!!!

Animal Kingdom.
I think Hollywood Studios(MGM) and Epcot might be a little boring for a 4 year old.

Animal Kingdom for Sure. I have been to Disney over 100 times & live in Orlando. MGM has a lot of rides that the average 4 year old would not be tall enough for and Epcot has each country with very few rides. My neice was there last year when she was 3 1/2 and she was bored silly in Epcot & MGM.
