Which place would be better to move to...Houston or Dallas?

We are both in our 20's, no kids yet, but plan on starting a family when I graduate in 3 years. How do each compare as far as house/apartment prices go or which is more affordabloe overall? Which place has more to do? The least crime, nicer areas overall, has more lakes and recreation? Which is greener...i'm not really a desert type of person. We currently live in San Diego and would like to move somewhere similar, just way more affordable.
Additional Details
Also, I grew up in South Dakota before I moved to Cali and it's VERY VERY HUMID there (So.DAk) believe it or not, so I'm ok with that part of Houston, I also LOVE being the big city. I dont think I could live any where smaller than 1 million people.

I heard Houston has a lot of crime since most of New Orleans moved there. I would move to Dallas

Dallas.... it's A LOT less polluted and crowded. Everything else is about the same.

alien_domination
f**** texas it sux it has snakes and you will die move back in with yo mama

houston all the way!!!!! rent/housing is cheap, hot weather, great sports town....great everything!

Joachin Murrieta
Houston wins hands down....also Houston's weather is less extreme. OK, we have hurricanes, but the last one was in 1983 and it wasn't bad.

Housing prices - winner Houston
More to do - winner Houston
Least crime - probably Dallas
Lakes and water - Dallas, but Houston IS close to the Guld of Mexico and beaches
Greener - Winner Houston
More "Culture" - winner Houston
Better/Variety Food - winner Houston

greenie
definately Dallas, Houston is too crowded

AK
Both cities are a good place to move so I suggest Houston, I should live in either Katy or Sugarland. If I suggest Dallas, I should live in Arlington or the Suburbs around Fort Worth.

houston

Go to Houston. It is a whole lot better place to live. I have been there often and I love it, better than Dallas which is totally messed up.

NR
Dallas. Houston sounds too country.
