I'm the man!

Which states are the friendliest?

Select Southern states, which in my experience they are Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, and areas of North Carolina and Georgia. As for the west, I've had good luck with areas of Washington and Wyoming.

I've always heard about how rude and horrible people from Florida are, but most of the ones I've met have been friendly. Maybe the nice ones actually left Florida.

Two Southern states that are WAY overrated? Tennessee and Alabama. I've met some obnoxious, rude a** people from those places; many yankees are actually friendlier. As for Arkansas, why does everybody that comes from there always look so bitter and sour, like they just swallowed a cat turd or something?
Additional Details
Oops...I didn't mean to say Georgia twice. I meant to say also say Oklahoma, instead.

I was born and raised in Georgia, and lived there 27 years. I've been living in North Carolina for 6 years. I work in South Carolina. And I have traveled to the other Southern states.

My experience has been that Georgia is the friendliest in the southeast. It's the hub of gool ol' Southern Hospitality.

West Virginia!!! "Wild and Wonderful" - Heck we have Bridge Day tomorrow!!

All the Southern States,
because of our "Southern Hospitality."
I love your description of folks from Arkansas, Bill wasn't born there but I think Hillary was.
I have a few friends from Arkansas, I can't wait to pass on that bit of wisdom about the "cat turd."
Thanks, that is one of the funniest things that I've heard in such a long time.

Mississippi-It's the hospitality state. No matter where you go, you will find good and bad people. I like the fact that MS people will talk to you and will help you if they can. Not to mention the good Southern food...YUM! I was born in the south, and I think I will get married and raise my children in the south too. It just depends on what you're looking for. It's not an expensive place to live and it's very beautiful. I wish you luck in finding the right place!

I did not know states could be friendly. I always thought it was people who were friendly.

wait wait wait I am from Florida and im not rude.

Im from south florida, and here you can meet some of the nicest people. Maybe you meant north Florida.

and you should specify your question.

states friendliest to gay people, to hispanic, to black, to asian, etc?

Madame Blueberry!~
Colorado has friendly and caring residents.

Nicholas S
Texas, Montana and Arkansas the people are great. I am sure we must not have been to the same areas in Arkansas, I only saw a few turd swallowers there.

To me Mississippi and South Carolina are the friendliest. Pennsylvania the rudest.

I was warmly Welcomed in Virgina and Kansas. But Virginia was the best.

The nicest folks are in NC. My wife and I dream of retiring there for that very reason.

The reason many folks in FL are rude is because they are Yankees who retired down there. I live in MD and do a lot of business here in the Northeast, and man, there are a TON of jerks up here. I live by the rule that if they don't kill you they must love you up here.

From my experience, people in Kansas seem to be pretty friendly. One state I can tell you isn't very friendly is Illinois. I've lived in Illinois (central Illinois, not Chicago) all my life, and people can be just horrible. Really, though, we shouldn't stereotype, since there are good and bad people from all states.

My favorite states are Missouri and California. Blue (the cat) says the state of confusion, state of panic, and the state of illusion. But most states are the same that is why we call it the United States of America...Blue still insists on the state of Hungary..But he hasn't been fed yet. Dumb cat...

idk...ive only been in the midwest (illinois, minnisota, indiana, etc.), the east coast(mane, massachusets, etc.), texas & california. isnt everywhere the same? i mean, its not the state really. isnt it the area?

I know here in KY we're pretty friendly andsimple people... Everything's not a big city or anyting and we take in the scenes and relax. We don't rush around alot and make mountains out of mole hills, we just take it day by day^_^

I've heard that stuff about florida too though, and I've run into some nice florida people. But my Boyfriend went down there once and asked a woman what kind of pop they had and she laughed at him and said they call it soda....
