That is very true. However, you must remember, he is a religious icon to so many and you have a large Catholic base in the area. It's like having the UN in session, the Democratic or Republican conventions, they foul up things for a short time for what they need. I know it's inconvenient, but i'm sure it is better than having your life permenantly inconvenienced, think of the people living in Iraq who have to deal w/ checkpoints and what not b/c some radicals won't let there be peace?

The Press coverage is ridiculous -- showing him flying around in a Helicopter on five channels. After he lands the will follow his car around.
"See the Helicopter -- the pope is in there -- see that car --- the pope is in the car, then it will be see that building, the pope is in there".

I live in Alaska...you should see the traffic jams it's causing up here. Dang people! He's just a guy in a pointy hat that may occasionally have something interesting to say.

Not me I think people of his religion is very grateful of his doing . I don't watch it on T.V. so really it doesn't bother me none .

He is nothing special. Just a clouded power hungry old man as all the popes are. He and his position are man made. He is a waste of time for NewYorkers. But he is human and has a right to be in America. :(

first if all its KWANZAA NOT QUANZA
and 8 or so streets are not blocked off because of that or MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY. and the Gay pride parade takes up some streets just like the st. patricks day parade! and they don't cover it 24/7 on the news like this papal visit also why do you have to call out the Homosexual/African-american Holidays/celebrations huh??

OMG. I live in N.C. but i can see why you would be annoyed that's your home and you shouldn't be told what and what not to do. I roman Catholic and I think the pope needs a reality check.

Jesus (no pun intended) there are MUCH bigger things to be upset about--he was in DC for TWO days and the city was mayham, get OVER it, there are people dying in Iraq, get mad about that....

So yes , it pissed me off...
