Who else thinks Michigan should endores a law to fix pot holes?

Michigan has a lot of pot holes. You can't see them comming because it's hard to tell where they are, especially at night. They cause a lot of unecessary damage. Who else thinks there should be a law in patching pot holes up?
Additional Details
I've lived in Ma, and yes Tauton has them bad too.

Oh they do fix them- maybe not as quickly as we would like; just quickly enough so the roads are routinely fixed and then devestated next Winter. The better question would be as to why we don't spend a bit more on better road materials to begin with so the potholes don't occur like in many European nations. You get rid of the potholes and just think how much more unemployment there would be in Michigan- you have various government workers and private companies whose full time, year-round job is to basically fix potholes; not to mention the extra business auto garages get fixing banged up vehicles. I know Michigan's weather plays a big role in creating potholes. Another cause is all the semis we have driving on roads not made to support their weight; when's the last time you honestly saw a semi being checked at a Michigan weigh station? I also think that licensing fees for semis, along with a few other Michigan taxes, are supposed to partially be used for maintaining state roads; I could be mistaken though. Anyway, I think there is a political conspiracy to leave Michigan's roads in such terrible state. OK just kidding- or am I?

Oh trust me you do no know pot holes till you live in Taunton, MA. I've lived in both MI and MA(cause my fiance is originally from MI) and trust me MA has way worse pot holes especially in Taunton.

well being an Michigan, i should about the pot hole but do you the answer to this question...
What is the state animals is ? give up
it is the orange barrel (ha,ha ha) . you think the potholes are bad try the railroad tracks they are worse, those. poor train conductors.
well bieng seroius now we do pay taxes on the gas that is suspose to go the roads, but i don't think so.

The potholes in states with winter climates will always be bad as long as there are extreme temperature shifts.
A word to the wise - Auto companies are pushing these low profile tires these days. If you purchase a vehicle with low profile tires, make sure that you also purchase road hazard insurance too. potholes are murder on them and they can get very expensive.

We should lighting the load of all the truck roaring thruogh. That would help a lot.

The damn road commission is corrupt. We need better roads, but they make too much money fixing them every year. I can't ever remember a year 1-75 didn't have construction.

Biker
Man the roads go to the lowest bidder.
Thats why you have so many potholes.
All the semi traffic and cars mixed with the heating and freezing of the roads blow gaping holes in the pavement.
I think something should be done about it and done pronto.
I still think Michigans state quarter should have a mosquito perched on a orange barrel next to a car with a broken wheel from a pothole.

you dont know pot holes til u lived in the UP my god.. i put so much money into my car.. and my moms.. bc of them damn pot holes..

Winter is tough on roads. Towns and the state already know what has to be done. Passing a law would do what?

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Be sure to report pot holes in your area to the highway department of your town or state, depending on whose road it is.

It doesn't help matters to have trucks carrying tons of IMPORTED garbage into Michigan. They also need to make railroad crossings smoother. I just got my car out of the shop--$700!

Deni
Definitely, when I lived there I spent more on tires, alignments, and other road hazards!

undhockey06
Me. I've lived here 8 months and the state of the roads is disgusting.

Yes I believe they really need to try and fix the pothole problem. I thought I would mention that I just got back into Michigan yesterday morning. The landing was very smooth, but the runway was very bumpy. The pilot was kind enough to say "Well folks I am sure you noticed that we are back in Michigan by the condition of the roads." I thought that was pretty cute myself but the sad part was he obviously was not from Michigan with his accent.

Westland Michigan is where all the potholes are, there's not one place you turn that you don't see potholes yes I think they should make a law to fix potholes.
