Don't take any More money with you than you can afford to lose and see as many of the free street shows as possible. Be sure to take in the Freemont Street Experience. Have a great time. |

If this is your first trip to Vegas...you need to know a couple of things.....
1st) Its cheaper and faster to take a cab to get from place to place on the strip.....
2nd) If you're gambling...drinks are free!! Drop $1 worth of nickels in a slot machine and get your drink on for free!! Just remember to tip the waitresses...this will ensure that they take GOOD care of you.
If your looking for things to do OTHER than gamble...the night life is like no other. Check out the Ghost bar at the top of the Rio...it is WICKED cool at night.
Club Ra in The Luxor is a killer club....shows are cool if you can afford them...if not...you can literally walk the strip and find some amazing food and sights.
Above all else....the casinos are designed to take your money. They do it in a friendly manner that you won't notice till you back in your room wondering where your shirt went and how your overdrew your checking account $3000 in a matter of 18 minutes...set yourself a limit that you can lose...and DON'T mix you winnings with your set "Loss Limit". Play your winnings if you want, but don't exceed your budgeted loss limit....that's when Vegas becomes UN-Fun quick, when you're bleeding money because you tell yourself..."Oh just a hundred more dollars."
You'll find that after 3 days in Vegas you'll be ready to get back to the real world....It's a TON of fun, but just manage your money and yourself well and it'll be a time to remember!!
It's true...what happens to you in Vegas won't happen ANYWHERE else in the world! |

Get a comp card for all your gambling. Charge the points to the buffet. Eat well at the buffet an you will not need to eat for the rest of the day.
Take one days pay for every 24 hours you will be there in addition to the cost of the hotel.
Traffic can get very snarled up and down the strip. The bus, monorail and trolley are great alternatives.
No one else goes by a clock much. Except for missing a show don't use them. This is part of the fun Vegas has to offer. |

Don't spend all your time gambling. See the shows, walk the strip and see all the hotels. When you gamble, don't drink to much. Drinks are free, but a drunk and his money are soon parted. Don't wander alone off the strip. Do not jay walk, you will be hit by a car! Have a great time without going nuts. You don't have to do everything on one trip, you'll be back. |

Bring the most comfortable walking shoes you own and a light to medium jacket. Avoid carrying a large purse, use a small handbag or moneyclip if possible.
Another tip, is to tip. |

Try not to gamble all your money away. It makes you feel extremely bad and is so very easy to do and be careful of hustlers. |

Rent a car. Parking is free everywhere, and abundant. Don't waste money on cabs, especially if you don't know your way around Vegas already. (Cabbies will always take you down the strip and milk you for all the fare they can.) If you jump on the 15 and take roads that parallel the casinos you want to hit on the strip, your travel time will be 15 minutes max. Never try to drive on the strip around dinner time or later. You will sit in traffic for two hours.
Have fun! |

Tips for Vegas:
1. Don't sign up for time-shares.
2. Rent a car.
3. Spend a day or two away from The Strip.
4. Make sure your money, cell phone, credit cards & ID are secure at all times!
5. Avoid the hecklers, they are very busy.
6. Set a gmbling limit & don't go over it!
7. Beware of: Pimps, prostitutes & opportunists!
8. Pace yourself, there are a lot of things to do & see in Vegas.
9. The attire is extremely casual, you must wear a jacket at night, it gets chilly.
10. Gym shoes are a must!
11. Finally, enjoy yourself, have tons of fun! |

1. Pack warm clothes; it can get cold in November.
2. Go shopping at the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace or the Fashion Show Mall.
3. Watch out for people offering you free shows. They're just trying to sell you a time share. |

Only rent a car if you plan on spending a full week there and want to take in Hoover Dam. Otherwise you can wing it with the bus pass and a cab. Wear good walking shoes. When you're walking the strip, stay on the strip where everyone else is! It's not safe to walk off it. Pack a good 24 hr moisturizer (if you're not from the southwest your skin will get dry and itch) and a good lip balm. Bring a warm spring coat and sweater. Tip everyone. If you're not a smoker, don't gamble downtown. (The ceilings are lower and the second-hand smoke is terrible there). If you like buffetts, get in line early for the Paris buffett, or you will wait forever. Harrah's has good shows, New York has fun bars, and the Mandalay Bay has a cool Shark reef. Have Fun! |

Apparently this is a cool way to get an upgrade on your room. I've not tried it yet, but will in the next couple weeks.
Good Luck |

Take a day off every couple of days, there is more to see than 'the strip'. Rent a car (cheap) drive through Death Valley, on the other side is a place called Lone Pine, worth the trip. Go up to Boulder see the dam, very impressive! Rent a boat on Lake Mead, fish or just joy ride.
If you go to Lone Pine let me know if the Mexican waiter has learned English yet. Enjoy!! |
