wow. How interesting. I've always wanted to go to Italy. Italian food is my favorite, Italy is full of culture and history, Italy is just plain beautiful. I live in Los Angeles. It's not all that interesting, really. I guess we all want what we can't have...

RunAmok
I lived in Italy for three years up north of Venice (Venitzia) and I loved Italy and your culture and all the great art but there is no place like America. You sometimes hear some unknowledgable people bashing it but it is the greatest country in the world. Welcome and have a great time.

fast&furious
Wgy would you leave Europe for America?

people are not really content with what they have, who they are, where they are....etc. it's a natural feeling. and the usa exudes a land of promise of milk & honey. so who would not dream of moving to the land of promise?

travelling to any part of the world is always worth it. you get to learn about a country's culture and people. it's a good experience which widens your perspective on almost everything.

America is great! There is tons of stuff to do here! You are infatuated because you long for something different! No problem with that! Meet new people, explore..save up your money and come on over and hang out!! America is beautiful! Never been to Los Angeles...but I need to go!!!

Los Angeles is awesome.
Theres so much to do here..i live about 20 miles away from L.A. (which is like 20 minutes away) i go down there often.

Probably because of all the great shopping and all the credit that easy to front and owing is not a jail-able offense yet!!!! We are quite the consuming nation and who doesn't love getting new things we yearn for! It's like the American dream is a god given right for all who live here! Also the pursuit of happiness is a definite plus! Abundance is everywhere! You just gotta want something bad enough and you will be presented with a way. It's the law of attraction. Empowered with rights backed by justice positioned by the people. Where else can you find all that? And open arms embracing all!

copestir
Really, I have always hope to travel in Italy! I have saved for years to visit Italy. I will be going there in May. I hope to see the art. I guess the grass may seem greener on the other side of the Atlantic.

Nette
I'm sure it's the same reason we dream of going to other countries too. It's the unknown and all the things you see on TV looks beautiful. Everyone wants to go somewhere they've never been. I'd love to go to Italy! But I don't think I will ever be able to go.

tamara_cyan
Come over, mate... see how bad it really is.
You'll be running back to Italy.

I have traveled extensively throughout the world and lived in Europe, especially for long periods of time, while studying. So as to respect all the peoples of the world - More or Less - I'd say the grass always looks greener from a considerable distance.
I studied for 6 weeks, for 3 semesters each, during Graduate school, at a studio in Firenze, and Roma. I loved Italy.
But when I came back to the States I realized I was home, take it or leave it!
So, think before you launch ahead through the spell of reverie.

I am an American who lives in California and been to LA many times. I am not a big fan of LA because I am not a big city person. But there are tons of things to see and do in the US that are absolutely amazing. It's a big country - frankly California is a huge state and LA is just a tiny part of it. People assume LA is the only thing in California - big mistake. I live near Santa Barbara north of LA and would pick it and the surrounding area and coastal California north of LA over anything in LA any day. But it depends on what you want to see.

The people are very friendly overall. Figure out what you want to do while you're here, do your research and you will have a great trip.

Lindsey
It depends on where you go. I've never been to Los Angeles, but if you come over here, you should definitely go to South Beach Miami Florida, it's AMAZING!

Most people are interested in areas different than thier own. You might be pleasantly surprised and then again you might be dissappointed. Your ideals and dreams of the USA as a child might not be what the reality is. Every country has its good points and its bad points. The best way to see if it really is for you is to try a student exchange or have a friend in the States that you can stay with to get a 'feel' or 'taste' of life here. Visiting as a tourist is a bit different than the 'down and dirties' of living and working here :) That way you'd know if you REALLY want to do the big move.

We'd love to have you Xoxo

Keep working to get over here.Don't expect it to be a whole lot better than Italy. These days,America isn't much different than Europe when it comes to opportunity and such.I think it's a great place though. It's my home. There are some imperfections, but I don't think it's that bad.

free_to_dream27
You are infatuated with the USA because people are on their best behavior and their mood is happy when on vacation. Why do you think US Citizens go to your country to get the heck out of the US???

Old English saying - "The grass always seems greener on the other side."

To have a romantic view of the US is healthy, but try to make friends here first, and then come visit so that they can show you around.

You've had your fourth glass of schnapps and that girl across the bar looks HOT. You want her, bad. But in the morning, you wake up, hog-tied, with a broomstick up your ***, while some he-she photographs you and goes through your wallet, laughing. That hot "woman" across the bar, who looked so sultry from a distance, is America.
