Why do Americans hate foreigners?

I am sorry that some of my fellow americans misjudged you. Alot of americans have forgetton that their ancestors came from all parts of the world to America seeking religious freedom. Mine came from Ireland. 9/11 has changed America, when thousands of people die innocently it is very easy to let that hate and anger rule your life, every person that is not an american is now looked at differently. I am sorry for this. Please forgive, Not all of us prejudge. Best Wishes to you and I hope your marriage lasts a life time.

Sorry. For the most part, we really don't concern ourselves with which country you are from. I'm sure there are ignorant people in every country; judging an entire country on one conversation with one small group seems pretty small minded and judgemental to me

I think the question should be.....why do foreigners hate Americans? But seriously, these people are a few in a billion people who live in America. Just because you say that one person is mean doesn't mean that one person represents how America acts about other countries.

I think thats a bunch of BS I live in Texas, I know where Paris Texas is, and for most people to ask if you were speaking of Paris Texas you probably where in Texas when you would have asked that question. Texans are not that rude. Ive got friends from all over they country and they have all told me that they could not believe the politeness they received from the people. I call BS!!

You shouldn't judge all Americans on what a few did or said to you. I'm not like that, and I don't appreciate people saying that I'm like that just because of where I come from.

I am not so sure that they were the ignorant ones....

If you're going to make up a story in order to paint Americans in a bad light, for whatever reason it is that you're doing so, make the story a bit more believable. People shaking fists at you, you almost succumbing to a heart attack, dirty words being thrown about.

This wouldn't make a good movie on Public Access channel. Try again.

I am really surprised and sorry to hear that. I also think you should not judge all americans by a few ones you unfortunatelly encountered. I lived in many countries and I can assure you there are ignorante people everywhere who hate foreigners. I think americans are very nationalist and proud of who they are but I dont think they are rude. Those people you met deserve to apologize to you...

I am sorry you had to be verbally abused by that, usually ignorant Americans will just have a laugh with you over something like that but that is despicable.
Also, not ALL Americans are ignorant and vulgar, I am not that's for sure. I love to travel and learn about new cultures as well as speak, not shout about differences in our cultures. These Americans that you met should definitely take a trip around the world because we are not by any means the only country that is important. Every country is and it is imperative for Americans as well as people from other countries to be able to learn without preconceived notions about how others exist. I have learned so much more by studying and traveling in other countries and I truly believe that it has shaped me to become a better person.

My parents are immigrants. What I realized, being an American with immigrant parents, that the opposite holds true too. Growing up in New York City I had alot of friends, coworkers, and colleages in school who were from other countries, and I came across so many who seem to hate
Americans.

I've met so many Americans who are very sweet and quiet
people.

I think you made all of that up and all you do when you show such ignorance is cause strife and problems. People believe your stupidity and might take it seriously. Also you have a very narrow, generalized view point. I am American and I don't hate foreigners, in fact I married a South Korean man. So there is one who doesn't and none of my family, nor my friends hate foreigners. I think you need to do something else worthwhile with your time.
