Why do people like to go to Las Vegas?

I go to Vegas because it's fun - there's always something to do. There are some great restaurants, gambling, shows, spas and some interesting things to see outside of the city (Valley of Fire). One of the previous people (Helga?) said it best - it's Disney World for Adults.

Summer Breeze

Well...for my husband and I, we like to go to Las Vegas because it's a nice and quick getaway. It's only a 4 to 5 hour drive or 30 minute plane ride for us. We go to gamble, eat some good food, shop, and people watch. Every so often we'll check out a show. But for the most part, we just enjoy being somewhere where we can have fun. And we ALWAYS have fun when we go to Las Vegas.

There is no place like Vegas. I live in New York and I go atleast once a year. I would live there if I could. When I get my vacation from work I am only interested in going to Sin City.

We are about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Vegas and try to go there at least once a year. We have fun everytime we go! Sometimes too much! The bars, gambling, food, music, and atmosphere is great. Everyone is having a good time and it really is like Disneyworld for adults.

it is an adult DisneyWorld...you can always find something fun or cool to do. If you like food, shows, art, adventure, history, etc you can do it in Vegas. I will be going back this Dec (for my 15th time) and there is still stuff to do and shows to see that I havent done. You could never eat at all the great restaraunts in a lifetime.

Well... mostly for the gambling, but there's also the excitement of the city, parties, bars, great food, lots of sightseeing. I personally like how you can get a feeling to what different places are like visually by going to the casinos (ie Paris, Italy, Egypt, NY, etc).

There are also lots of great shows there. Anything from magic shows, circus acts for the kids, broadway shows, musical acts, cirque du solei, comedy acts, tournaments, variety shows, impersonators, sexier acts, strippers...you get the picture. You can pretty much find something for everyone there.
