Texans are a proud people. They deserve to be. As do Iowans, Illini, Idahoans, Arkansans, and every other resident of a region in our country.

To risk a stereotype, I will begin :

Dude, don't hate!

We are a hybrid country of all peoples from everywhere in the world. Chill!

Texas, California, Rhode Island, Kansas, Alabama, Alaska, what difference does it make?

We are all a huge nation, made up of many different cultures., How cool is that?

I do not care if you are from Belize, The Czech Republic, China, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Azerbaijan, The Phillippines, Finland, or points between. I deal with individuals.

If you want to give me an attitude, I will see your attitude and raise you One.

If, on the other hand, you want to be harmonious, and work with me, I do not care where you were born.

This is not a personal attack, although it should be.

To answer your question: not all Texans do, and those who do have Little Man syndrome.

The only reason that I would think that Texans hate Californians is that they continually come to Texas and take jobs and make home prices go up. I only think this because I worked for a California based company that has just recently had a large stampede of their Californian employees move to Texas. They are all like this is such a great place and SOOOO cheap. They cannot afford nice homes on average salaries in Cali, but they sure can afford everything here in TX. New Yorkers are nice people I don't like or dislike them they are just a new type of people to learn about and get along with! Also I would NEVER want to live in such a urbanized place like New York or LA. I likes my sprawl in Austin! GO TEXAS!!!!

It's just a stereotype... I've heard Texans believe LA and NY people are rude, selfish, not customer-oriented, very liberal and think their s**t don't stink... whereas Texans are a bunch of slow talking, country, cowboy wearing, Ford F-350 redneck drivers that carry their chewing tobacco cups and we have acres and acres of land, yes each one of us...

Is it true... of course not. Do I believe any of that, of course not.

I had a cousin visit us from Cali (Santa Barbara area) for the first time and she honestly thought we all wore cowboy hats down here and expected to hear alot of country music on the radio. I live in a loft in downtown Dallas and I turned out to be more urban than her and she turned out to be more country than me... so what now? LOL!

P.S. Alot of people from Cali and NY are in our loft complex; seems like alot of peeps are moving to TX... money goes alot further here...

B/c like most other dumb redneck states they have a major inferiority complex towards new york and especially California. Everyone loves to hate CA b/c it's the biggest (population wise) and most powerful state in the union. And they make fun of some of our laws and the things we do but then 5 or 10 years down the road adopt those same laws or policies. Just look at all the environmental and anti-smoking laws CA and states like NY pioneered that other states are now copying.

Texas is so flat, dull, and boring. There are so many fat and unfit people there and there cities are nothing but giant sprawling suburbs. So they need to tell themselves they are better b/c they live in such a crappy state. And people in TX are not nice like they claim to be, if you don't think like they do they will not be nice to you.

It's always easy to hate the biggest and the best states and it will always happen b/c backwards states like Texas just have a major inferiority complex.

Well I am from the Sticks of Texas and a lot of the rednecks here have negative stereotypes about big cities, which California and New York are usually associated with. It's not jealousy, it's ignorance..I used to judge as well until I fell in love with both a New Yorker and NYC

Since all Texans are incestuous they carry the "hate gene", I mean look at the President we got and all his Texas cronies? So they tend to hate not only NYorkers adn Cali's . . .but everyone in between. Except those bible-thumping right-wing fundamentalists.

Everyone I have met from Texas was friendly to me and I'm from New York, even though I hate to admit it.

Texans are great people and have no desire to be stuck in liberal areas as NY and LA
