Go to places where famous movies were shot and pose in the exact spot. Take a pic and send it to friends and family. Example: Star Trek four has many scenes in Golden Gate Park. The Streets of San Francisco was shot .....in the streets of San Francisco.....

I've been there twice. I had fun. We went to Fisherman's Wharf, went to China Town, and a bunch of other toury things. I even stopped and took my picture in front of Robin Williams house... I am a dork.

I JUST LOVE California, Kermie. Well, most of it anyhow. Just can't afford the prices. But if you can, lucky you! Believe me, you will discover WHATEVER you are want in SF and the bay area, so seek and ye shall find: the good, the bad, and the ugly. And of course the most wonderful climate, trees,flowers, homes,and food in the world. I do envy you, so Enjoy!

move to San Diego.. its WAY BETTER!! actually.. move to carlsbad, or encinitas, which are both the best cities in san diego.. believe me.. ull love it here!!!! and,, btw CA doesnt suck!! just san francisco... in ur opinion

it's funny because for such a liberal place they sure do try to empty your wallet in a hurry! they like to talk about freedom and stuff there, but you will have to try real hard to find anything free. "sir, i'm glad you enjoyed that smile i gave you, but i believe you owe me ten dollars now."

Well, if you are in line with one of the respondents and are homophobic, or xenophoic, or any kind of what-makes-this-country-great phobic, or just totally ignorant all together, then yes, most definitely, do the great city of SAN FRANCISCO a favor and move over to the bible belt or in the general vicinity.
However, I'm guessing you moved to one of the greatest cities on earth because you wanted to try something new, challenging, and live amongnst what is the most unique icredible abundance of funky intelligent original creative progressive animated pleasurable blessed areas of planet E and be surrounded by physically gorgeous stimulation for your eyes, heart and mind. There are SO many things to do in San Francisco and the whole bay area, such litany that who knows where to begin or end for that matter, but let's start here: go talk a walk outside. Go eat mexican in the mission. Go look at the murals that will humble you and take your breath away. Walk down by the bridge for scenery and some r&r.. hang by the water and the marina, laying in the grass just soaking in how lucky you are to be where so many people would die to afford... visit historic haight and although it is different than the years before, just *feel* that energy.. it is pulsating through the veins of the city, throbbing, drum beats of revolution and change and a better day tommorrow, starting here and now. Go to GG Park, it's gorgeous. Try one of thousands upon thousands of some of the greatest restaurants in the world... you want morroccan? indian? egyptian? korean? american? persian? chinese? japanese? vietnamese? cuban? jamaican? what??! it's ALL there man!
How about going out tonight? Do you wanna feel the afro-cuban vibes with the drums beating through your mind, open minded and fresh people all around you, waiting to cross paths? How about the "scene". a whole street dedicated to the hedonistic indulgences of the bay area people, dancing, grinding, smiley good times until the wee hours of the morning while the dj spins actually GOOD music? How about outdoor free concerts? Maybe a historic game at the new ball park? it's just a short muni ride away... Don't have to wait long until next spring and summer festivities--when the city just comes ALIVE -- i mean, how you can actually feel the collective heartbeat of this place, with dancing in the streets, freedom to be whoever you are or want to be, no matter how non-conformist or freaky or downright blasphemous mr. there's-too-many-gays-there might percieve it as...How bout you hop over the GG bridge and enter ancient redwood forests, find you zen amongst unbelievably tall canopys of trees who know all and can tell you.. if you slow down enough to listen.. Head over the the East Bay, play for a day in Berkeley, soak up the absolute beautiful godliness of people from all over the world - from every single inch of this planet - congregating all in one place to live life to the fullest and then you tell me.. please, tell me... if you aren't happy with that... you moved to the WRONG city man!
Try it out.. give it some time. It is a different culture, and that takes a minute to get used to.. Be open, you'll meet some people and just begin to scratch the surface of all this frickin fabulous city has to offer...
City by the bay... I miss you SF!

I've lived in several cities, small and large. I've also lived in small towns that have one gasoline station and everything closes at 8pm. I've even lived in England, Germany, France and Greece. Right now, I live in upstate from you, but I'm getting ready to move to Maryland because my work is moving me. I love San Francisco.

This is going to be hard for you to hear, but if you think SF sucks, and you can't find things to do and things to interest you, you are not going to be happy anywhere.

you're from Wisconsin and you think CA sucks?!?! The cheese is better here too. Maybe you can't afford California b/c you are a "painter and photographer". Get a real job you loser and actually contribute something to society instead of doing a useless job and complaining! And maybe if you had real friends instead of a bunch of Y! avatars as your friends then you might enjoy it more. CA is a big state and there are plenty of other cities and places to choose from.

My suggestion would be to move to the San Fernando Valley where they shoot most of the XXX movies. Perhaps if you're presentable, they would cast you for a vid - at least it would add some excitement to your life :D
