Why not come up to the Bronx and say that to the people in my neighborhood, you wouldn't last 5 minutes! New York is tough and being tough means you get dirty, so I suggest you stay in your sterile little world and let the big boys play!

xxtubularbellsxx
I was just down at Times Square yesterday, everything was perfectly clean there, I dont know what you're ranting about.

It's an old city that's been in almost contant use for the past 400 years and unlike wherever you may be from NYC doesn't have a rolling up of the sidewalks ceremony every night at 7:30 PM

Angel Face!
Hey whats your problem with New Yorkers?
Are you responsible for the cleanliness of your town or city...No I don't think so.

zippythejessi
The unshowered ones are often tourists, who also come in and make a mess of our city. If you can't keep it (and yourself) clean, go the h*ll home!

Alec F
do u get this from movies, i just recently went there it wasnt even that dirty and considering 18 million people live there of course its gonna get a bit dirty. Every city in the world is a bit dirty

Look NYC has 8.5 million people living here and countless more tourists each day which brings the number of people that come through this city each day to around 16 million people.

You are out of your mind if you think that a city that has 8.5 million people and almost double that during the workday coming through the city is going to be clean.

I don't know of any urbanized place in the world that is clean. Are you responsible for the cleanness of your city? I don't think so, so don't get on us about our city and I guarantee your city isn't even a crumb compared to New York City.

tossie
Its a big city, a very large population. It also helps if New Yorkers keep it smelly and dirty they, keep the idiots out.

Rosebud
Hi,I don't understand your remarks, NYC is a very big city, 8 millions people, I find it personally clean, when you are walking in the streets we see cleaning workers, street workers at every corner, NYC is clean, There are some people who do nothing to keep pretty, who degrade the appearance, I don't know where you are living, perhaps in a closed private club, you can't say filthy, I am travelling in the world, I know Paris very well, NYC is nice (and clean).

Asking for a clean New York City is like asking for snow in a desert.

Compared to how it was in the 80's, New York is spotless! Listen, you have millions of people living in roughly 20 square miles. 40 million tourists visit each year and who knows how many vehicles pass through each day. With all this going on, I think the city is doing quite well on cleaning up. Yes there are still people who urinate on the street, and yes there is still graffiti, but there is also a higher rate of homeless people who have things other than getting a shower on their list of priorities.

E man
The exact number of the population of NYC is 8,274,527.

Lindaa
you are retarded. new york city is such a diverse place. Every kind of people with different situations live there- from billionaires to people on welfare. some people are too busy to be worrying about something so insignificant. most of the dirty ones are tourists, littering and whatnot. With a poplulation of 8 million people, i'd say its pretty clean.

by the way, what do you mean you people? we shower, we bathe, do you? why don't you find something more useful to do with your time than rant on the internet about "dirty people." We are probably a hundred times cleaner than you. get your facts straight stupid. you wouldn't last two seconds in new york. i bet you can't even cross a street.

DEE DEE DEEEEEEE

I've been there twice. Once you get insider NYC - Manhattan - it's not really that different from any other big city. Every city has its issues, but for a city of this size, I'm very impressed with how it looks. I don't know what you are seeing, but maybe you should put your rose colored glasses back on and see a more positive side. I also now live in the south (which I don't like) and it can actually be very dumpy looking in some areas, but not all areas. Cost of living has a lot to do with it also - if you are really that concerned, why not make it a project to go to NYC and clean up a section with some friends?

For a big city NYC is clean. What I find disgusting is all the white trash shacks in the South. Been through the south tons of times, especially North Carolina.

What's up with couches on the porches? - Don't you know they belong inside.
By the way, why have a car on cinder blocks on your lawn?- Don't you know that they invented these round things called tires. You put them on your car, they are not to hang in your trees.
Why on earth do you live in construction office trailers?--Those little metal boxes are meant for construction sites, not to live in. Houses are made of things like bricks and wood and are a couple of stories high.
