overall? new york.........most new yorkers like LA (that i know of) and hate the west of the west coast......im from frisco and HELLA people here hate LA......i lived there and met the most shittiest people i've ever met and the most incredible people i've ever met......i think NY is better though |

New York is better because it is older, on the East Coast, and has good food. You can't find a real hoagie or cheesesteak in all of California. Besides, there's too many illegals in LA. |

I went ot LA this year and NYC last year. I loved both but LA was the best. The weather is great and the beaches in the area are so beautiful! And the people are much nicer there too. |

There is no place in the world that compares to New York. It may not be people's "favorite" place, but there is no other place like it.
It is the largest city in the US, yet it is It's compact into a tiny area. Manhattan Island is only ten miles long by two miles wide! So instead of building outward they can only go up! It's almost surreal like Gotham. It's still considered the financial and Media Capital of the world, and you feel like you are indeed in the center of the world.
There is anything you want there. There is history, plenty of culture, razzle dazzle, entertainment, architecture, shopping, central park, The Met (and many other museums), Broadway, energetic huslte bussle, restaurants, you don't need a car (subways and taxis), it is more international, and it is full of colorful characters.
I also like the fact that people in New York are real. You get what you get. It doesn't matter if you wear a $3000 suit because someone will be wearing a $6000 suit. It doesn't matter if you wear a tee shirt, because someone else won't have one. Here, you'll see a city where everyone is together and it doesn't matter who you are.
LA is a huge sprawling city with traffic and terrible pollution. I think there are much better destinations in California than LA. West Hollywood and the beach are about the only things appealing, my opinion. If you want to go to California go to San Francisco.
New York is a compact city of neighborhoods. There's something for everyone. I really enjoyed living there and miss it terribly. It may not be a place you would want to live, but it will be an experience of your life! |
