Nah, I've been there when it's raining, and it's not a problem at all. You get those ponchos from any gift shop, last time I was there they were $5 each (cheapest Mickey souvenir by FAR!), put 'em on, and head to whatever attraction you were heading to. Remember, MOST attractions are indoors, however outdoor attractions may be closed until the weather clears. Also, almost every trip I've been to Disney has had some rain--but it rarely lasts long. The exception would probably be if you're planning on going in the next couple of weeks--the hurricanes/tropical storms will affect Orlando's weather for a few weeks.
I also always pack to dress in layers when going to Disney--I've been there when it's 95 degrees, and then I've also been there when it's in the 40's, all in the same day. Having a sweatshirt you can pull off when it's warmer helps bunches!! |

the rain won't ruin your vacation unless you let it.
just bring a couple pairs of shoes so while the ones you got wet one day can dry the next and just keep switching to let the wet ones dry.
and either buy a cheap poncho from walmart of buy a disney poncho when you get there.
better yet is a good rain coat of your own.
but with a big poncho you can be assured your back pack if you are bringing one won't get wet.
and besides for the most part is doesn't usually rain for very long. |

If it does rain for a whole day go to Disney Quest in Downtown Disney. It will cost extra to go there but it is amazing. It is a giant very interactive and high tech arcade (i hate to call it that though because I hate normal arcades but it is so much better). Also Epcot is the best park to go to on a rainy day because it has most of it's attractions indoors. |

Bring a poncho. It rains off and on all the time in the summer at WDW. Sometimes the lines get shorter when the rain starts. |

Information about the Rainy Season When the Water's Not so Friendly
During Hurricane season and through October, you will definitely get Rain & Heat. Heavy rains occur daily, but sometimes they offer relief from the heat and humidity. There isn't much you can do when the rains come except try to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Here are two key things you can do: Buy a rain poncho, it is well worth it. Put them on before you get too soaked, and you'll find that you're really much more comfortable when the rains pass by than if you braved the rain and gotten soaked. You may want to buy those rain ponchos at home and bring them with you. The cost of a plastic rain poncho at your local store will be much less expensive than the ones that are sold at any theme park. They are sold at Walmart and Publix and all of the drug stores around town too. The least expensive place to buy them is at the “Everything is $1.99” store on International Drive. Close to CiCi’s Pizza and IHOP you can find two of these stores, and they sell rain ponchos for $1.99. |

It always rains in WDW. but never for long. It can rain very hard so you will need protection. Bring rain ponchos with you and bring them to the parks. We packed ours then left them in our room. They do sell them there, but they are expensive for a poncho and thin. |

We just got back from Disney. It rained 2 out of the 5 days we were there it was great. The rain is kind of nice because the parks clear out and less time to wait in lines it was great. When it rained we went inside and had lunch or found something inside to do. Just make sure you buy a poncho before you go they are $8.00 in the park I went to the dollar tree and got mine before I left but silly me left them in the room. Don't do that put them in the bag you will take in the park with you. Hope you have as much fun as we did. I think you will be fine. |

Rain will enhance your trip. Parks are emptier when it's raining so it will be easier to get on the rides. |

NO WAY!!!
Disney World is a place filled with indoor rides and attractions that are great rain dodgers. Yes, it will rain. And yes it might rain a lot. But, that is just Florida weather. It is very easy just to hop on a ride then get off and see clear skies. What you should to just in case is buy ponchos that you can easily store. |

i won't lie, it is a little annoying at first. you think of sun and fun when you go to disney world.... then it rains. but, it doesn't usually rain for long and it actually can be a lot of fun! most people will be going indoors to see attractions, like mickeys philharmagic or space mountain. or they'll catch an indoor show or get a bite to eat. now's the time to enjoy the outdoor rides!!! it's really fun on big thunder mountain, splash mountain or the jungle cruise. it just seems like disney put the rain there to make it feel more real. so, while you may look a bit soggy, it'll be great fun! don't let anything ruin disney- that'd be a crime!
but do bring ponchos, raincoats, extra clothes and extra walking shoes and socks! i promise you'll have fun! |
