The world or should I say the earth will be here for at least another 15 billion years. At least until the sun supernovas. Man however will be long gone before then. Whether it happens in 2999 or not, who knows. |

In my opinion as you see the things happening in the world today,as it states in the Bible, things are going to get worse. We thought 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina was bad slowly but surely all these things are happening for a reason. It is in the Bible that things will be happening one after another until we are no longer able to help one another and the anti-christ will rise and take over for a while. God only knows when the end is and until all these things occur then he will bring an end to this world. Scary isn't it. |

It will end just like it did at midnight on December 31st, in the year 99, and again on the year 999, 199, 299, etc, and on the year 1899, and just recently on 1999. People have always thought that the world will end with the end of a calender year, decade, century or millenium.
It would only end if someone had a huge bomb set to blow up at exactly that time.
But to answer your dumb question another way...
The world does not have a count-down timer or an expiration date. |

Nope. Number of the date means nothing. No matter by what calendar you go by.
Jesus was born 3-5 years before what is 1 AD so the calendar is off. And then with the gregorian calendar change things went a little more off.
Jewish year is something like 5766. |
