White people live in Detroit as well as work, travel, visit and nothing happen to them. They also die in detroit just like they died in any other part of the world!.

I'm highly offended that you would suspect something like that, being a resident of the city. First of all these "mythical" gangs that roam the street trying to spot curious white people who made the wrong turn and maul on sight don't exist, belive it or not whites don't even come to the city unless the Tigers or Wings; and horrible Lions are playing and whoever told you that has only been downtown and nowhere else.Detroit is a beautiful place, just poorly maintained, the only way someone would hurt you is if you mouth off to the wrong person, which can happen anywhere to anyone. Second Detroit is far less dangerous than the surrounding suburbs, for one we don't have the entrie statewide population of child predators located in a ten mile radius, ironically enough all the negative attetion towrds Detroit, it's actually the suburbs you should be worried about (I mean its like the suburbs has the entire second season cast of predators of NBC's dateline with Chris Hansen living there....(wow)),so I think you'd better off here, being that your 16, and how predators such as NAMBLA like to prey on young boys. There is a popular misconception though that Detroiters like to kill all outsiders, NOT TRUE, in fact most of the people who say this are not even from Detroit, but once again from the "surrounding metro area". its the media's fault that Detroit is as bad as it is. Because of them Detroit is now more dangerous than Beruit in everyone's mind, sure the city looks like S#%* we know that, but we don't need every chanel broadcasting it and exposing it to all who want to get a good laugh at night before they watch the real news. A black guy can get killed in detroit; a asian guy; a white guy; a latin guy etc... people get killed everday in the world; and its not always Detroit.
Look we know that Detroit is messed up we see it everyday and were trying to clean it up, but what we don't need is you asking questons like this that makes everyone belive that Detroit is some"third world ghetto" country in the middle of Michigan, Because when you do that you scare off investors who have money to redevelop Detroit. If we don't have money, such in a case like this, then yeah it'll look like crap.So its best that you don't write post like this because it gives people the impression that Detroit is as bad and horrible as you make it out to be, when in fact it's really not that bad.

Uhhhh stop believing stereotypes or dumb movies. I went to college in detroit, right smack in the heart of it, im a young woman, drove and walked alone, it was fine. Detroit is actually pretty diverse, lots of ethnicities there. All cities have crime, the biggest crime in detroit is auto theft, that's the only big thing to really worry about. And being 16 is too young to be living on your own.

Only in a way that they would be killed anywhere else. When my relative lived there, her fiance's family lived on the west side in Wayne County. We would hang out on the porch and they would say "Hi" and beep their horn and so on. Very friendly. All big cities seem to have this reputation, but in reality, the more people, the more crime. Go by percentages, it would all about even out.

You're 16, and want to live in Detroit? No silly you won't get killed by roaming gangs of blacks. If you moved into the city proper, odds are you would just be left alone, free to live your life in happiness.
You might be able to purchase a house for a very reasonable price, but the property taxes will kill you. ( no pun intended )

detroit is not the most dangerous city in the USA any more. my son and i have been to detroit and we are still alive.. every state and big cities have crime it is not Just detroit michigan,

You'd be fine, it's just like any other city you have to watch your back and not hang out in the bad areas or the unknown areas late at night. I live in Michigan and go to The D all the time for baseball games. The city is trying very hard to get back on it's feet after having a scandalous mayor spend what little money we had. Downtown is kind of fun, there are lots of bars, clubs and places to hang out but you go about a half mile down the way and watch out. I've gotten lost there several times and never gotten shot at or anything and I'm a young white woman in a flashy brand new car. It is dangerous in certain areas but unless you are making enemies or being stupid you would be fine

no u will NOT get killed in detroit. i live on da east side of detroit. and i no 4 sho no white person will get killed. u jus gotta b u, and dnt try to act " african- american". jus b yourself. the west side is more quieter and cleaner than da east side so u shuldnt get killed in da D. so like i said jus b yourself.

Well I have been to Detroit several times. I have been beaten up 10 times and I have been shot in the chest 3 different times.
I plan on dying in Detroit wearing a $1000.00 Tan suit getting shot in the chest with 20 to 30 bullets.

You'd last about 5-minutes on the streets of Detroit. What's the sense of carrying a Dessert Eagle, unless you have the cajones to actually pull the trigger? It will come in handy for a future city homicide.
