tell me what car you drive, I'll estimate the cost by the price of gas in the states you'll be traveling through how many miles you get per gallon, along with other expenses for your trip and compare that with the cheapest fares to Vegas from Denver... also tell me when in march... write it down in your details by editing your question.
My initial guess would be to fly, but you never know.
but so far I got this thru expedia:
average price flying on friday returning on monday in march is $200-$300
I'm guessing your traveling alone the more people you have the more the odds are in favor of driving
travel distance from denver to las vegas is 760 miles
http://www.travelnotes.org/NorthAmerica/distances.htm
average miles per gallon for American cars are 25 mpg,
http://www.dailyfueleconomytip.com/?p=195
so on average you will need about 31 gallons of fuel
with the average price of gas being $2.89 in Colorado http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/wrgp/mogas_home_page.html
and approx. the same in Nevada your looking at
31x 2.89x2(roundtrip) = $179.18
(not including snacks, drinks, etc.)
so, you'll be paying approximately the same price or about $150 less by driving, but keep in mind it's a 12 hour trip to drive, then you got to turn back....
your better off trying to find a good deal for flying
(you might be able to get one for about $200 or less)
hope this was helpful, good luck!!!! |

All really depends on whether your willing to put up with the following:
Time + parking fees + gas + lenght of stay in Vegas + Rental fee + Traffic
And
If you are just planning on just hangning out on the Strip and Freemont (downtown) area.
Usually when in Vegas people tend to walk, use the trolley, cab, or bus (which runs 24 hours/365 days a year).
Using a car is a waste of time:
Traffic - can be killer on certain times of day, plus you dont get to drink while driving, but you can if you walk around, as long as you don't cause a scene.
Parking - there is free parking offered BUT it can take you a while to park, I don't have patience for this. |

Without a doubt I would fly. You don't really need the car once in Vegas and the airport is so close by. |

Since you leave so close to Vegas, driving would definitely be cheaper for you. DEFINITELY! of course, that depends on what type of gas you take. The thing about vegas though is that if you're going to be staying in a hotel on the strip, there is really no need for a car unless you're planning to travel further away from it. I flew to vegas from chicago and i had no problem at all getting around. there are buses and shuttles everywhere. you need to just add up the total for flights to vegas vs mileage+car rental. Also it depends on the day you are going to leave. depending on how far you are from vegas, paying for an extra night in a hotel can get you. |

Depends on how your gas mileage is...
I get about 22 mpg so it would cost about $100 each way. So.. yes, especially if 2 or more of you are going. That would be a bit cheaper than an airline ticket but it will take you 10 hours to get there. |

depends how many people are going. 3 or four? probably cheaper, but for one or two factor in gas, food, car cost, etc. I would think flying would be cheaper.....why not look up expedia and cost both out.? |

You would certainly be better off flying. Less hassle as well. You can find great deals. If you are flexible, check out www.kayak.com and you can search for flights at the best rate. Have fun! |

I've done both...... so would not drive this time of year.

Fly, I recomend it, I live in Vegas And I can tell you that most of the people prefer to fly, then you can rent a car here, is cheaper and it will save you a lot of money.
Unless you like the traffic of the freeway, you can drive. |

Look for flight deals online, sometimes you can fly for $99 round trip to places like vegas. However if you need a rental car, that's where it gets expensive. Add up all the costs then figure it out. Driving is more dangerous, but may be cheaper. |

Frontier Airlines flies there for $287 roundtrip. Depending on how long you need the rental car for and what kind of car you get, it might be cheaper to fly. |

Southwest has a Denver to Vegas flight for $99 |

It depends on your gas mileage and where you live in relation to vegas (i'm not sure how many miles it is from denver). For me it is cheaper to drive, it only cost me $40 to drive, but $200 to fly. I live in So Cal, and have a honda civic. You also have to take into consideration how much it would cost to rent the car. |

I am going to go against the grain and say that you should drive. Personally, I prefer to drive whenever possible. Flying this days can be such a hassle. Dealing with taxis and busses can also be a huge hassle and these extra costs can add up quickly.
The drive from Denver down to Las Vegas is very scenic. This is especially true driving through the Eisenhower Tunnel, Glenwood Canyon, and Green River. If you've never seen these sights along I-70, then you must drive through there. |

Flying, probably 100 - 200 i say at max. Gas costs a lot, way more than a flight. Just searched and for round trip is about 160 - 200. Thats way better than driving though... |

Definitely fly, and you can always find great deals on flights/hotels at cheaptickets.com. |

It depends how cheap you can get the tickets for. Gas would be a lot of money but the air fare could be from 200 bucks to like 400 bucks. So look on like expedia and all those websites for the best deal for airfare |
