Florida. I live in Florida but I visit Vegas as often as I can. Vegas is one of my favorite cities. I would pick Florida because the weather is better year round. Yes the humidity can be awful at times but when I'm in Vegas I find that my skin is so dried out. It does not rain everyday (for an hour)...well that happens more often in Key West. In Tampa, the weather is wonderful and it's close to the beaches. I live in Tallahassee right now and it is unbelievably hot, so live by the water..it's cooler. |

Both are extreme when it comes to heat.
I would probably take the dry heat in Vegas over the humidity in Florida |

If I was rich and retired, I'd live in a place for about a year then move. In that case, I'd definitely live in Florida at least once and Nevada at least once. More realistically, I'd prefer Florida because there's more a bigger variety of fun things to do. |

Vegas, baby!
Florida has humidity, hurricanes and too much water around it for me. I'll take the dry desert anyday. |

It is warmer in the winter in Florida but the humidity is terrible year round. Of course you also have to deal with the hurricanes. I was amazed how it rains just about every day in Florida at least for an hour a day. The bugs are a real problem in the entire state. So I guess I would say Vegas. |

Not really a fair comparison. Florida is a whole state and Las Vegas is one city. Personally, if I had to live the year round in one or the other I would have to choose Nevada. Summer in Florida is brutal. the dry heat of the dessert is much more comfortable than the extreme humidity of Florida.
City to city I would rather live in Las Vegas than any resort area of Florida. Although my retirement plans include wintering in Florida have in another place near Las Vegas for the Spring and Fall and on my property in Alaska in the Summer months. There is no way I would stay in Florida in the Summer. Besides, a home by Las Vegas would be give us a place to stay no matter how busy it gets there on special occasions.
