Would you rather visit Hawaii or Alaska? Why?

Alaska; I live here in Honolulu.
I'd like to see the Aurora Borealis, the midnight sun, crab legs the size of your thigh, glaciers breaking off into the inlets, riding a sled pulled by huskies, the Yukon, peeking inside an igloo, ice fishing... can't see or do any of that here in Honolulu...

This is tough. I'm planning on visiting both of them through cruises. But I'd definitely want to visit Hawaii first.

Hawaii is heaven! You can do anything or nothing. It's beautiful and the best place for a relaxing vacation. I live in paradise (San Diego) - and I think Hawaii (even Oahu) is heaven. Aloha!

Hawaii all the way!! I have been to Oahu five times and love it!! I dont like the cold weather, and who wants to be in a place called the "midnight sun"???? Not me!! I live in Michigan, and have had enough cold weather!! Why would I want to go to Alaska and have more cold weather??? NO Way!!
In Hawaii, there is the beaches, Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Cultural Center (mind you these are all on Oahu), Circle Island Drive, Cheeseburger in Paradise-Waikiki area, Duke's Canoe Club, my favorite hotel: Pacific Beach Hotel, The Blue Hawaii Show, the Navatek 1 Sunset Buffet Dinner Cruise, The Arizona Memorial, just to name a few!!

Totally Hawaii. I'm from Northern Canada and have seen enough snow and glaciers to last a lifetime. I'd love to see a tropical place. I've traveled out of my Country a lot, but just to Europe (which is good too)

Hawaii. I love the cold weather, but Hawaii is just so beautiful. I went to Kaui about 3 years ago and am planning to go to Maui on my next vacation.

i have been to both - twice to Alaska, 3 times to Hawaii (one of those for 4 months - hehehehe) Here are some thoughts on both:

Alaska - amazing scenery, great fishing, wildlife, and HUGE open tracts of land, covered by forests, lakes, tundra and the World's Largest mosquitos. It is beautiful in summer - I especially recommend fairbanks in late June when the sun never sets - its amazing - out on a lake fishing at 2 am with the sun still shining... Denali National Park was by far the highlight of both trips - saw moose, caribou, grizzleys, dall sheep and a wolf there. Also Juneau and the inside Passage via the Alaska ferry system - so incredible: fished with Bald Eagles, saw a grey whale and orcas. it rains a lot in Southeast alaska (ketchikan especially) Well worth going to Alaska, but highlights tend to be spread out and you spend a lot of time and gas money driving around - I don't think you really see the real Alaska on a cruise ship... the port cities are great and all but you don't get far from the boat....

Hawaii: it is my favorite place int he world. You can have adventures of a lifetime or you can just kick back on a beach and relax to the sound of the waves. Oahu is the popular island with Honolulu and Wikiki and such - it is great fun and everyone should see it at least once. Also on Oahu is Pearl Harbor, the Polynesian Cultural Center (make sure you eat their luau and see the night show) and the North shore beaches (waimea bay is my favorite) Maui is gorgeous and offers a more low-key relaxed vacation. I would highly recommend driving the road to Hana (listed as one of the top 10 scenic drive in US) it offers a visual tour of rainforest, waterfalls, and tiny Hawaiian town of Hana. This past year I went to the Big Island - there is so much to see and do there: Live volcanoes with lava pouring into the ocean, hiking through steaming volcano craters, sea kayaking is a blast, the best snorkeling in Hawaii is off the big island - sea turles, dolphins and even whales if you go from December to May. The waterfalls on the Hilo side are mind blowing - rainbow falls and Akaka falls are easy to get to and beautiful to see. Kona has decent night life and good places to stay and eat.

So to answer your question: I would go to Hawaii first, and later go to Alaska.
