Outside of the United States (not including Canada, why? I don't know), I've been to the Holy Land and London. London is a definitely cool place to vacation, although you might not think so. Lots of couples kissing just as the train wooshes into a tube station--The Underground. And of course, modern Israel is special if you are from any religion that derives itself from Abraham. The weather in Israel is otherworldly--not in the sense that it is paradise, like maybe Thailand is--it's just beautiful and refreshing. Don't let all the hype in the newspapers regarding the Holy Land get to you . Go, if you can. But I haven't answered the question--I like Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. The University of Michigan has so much to offer. Ann Arbor is a wildly diverse place--you can find a niche for yourself each night in a different restaurant--I'd try Gratzi for starters. Stay at "The Library" bed & breakfast if you can. If it's during the school year, catch a sports event live. Take a day trip to Detroit (that may sound odd to out-of-staters, but really, Detroit does have a lot to offer).

Montreal - much more buzzing and vibrant than I was expecting, has a great, friendly atmosphere.

San Francisco - quirky, unique and has diverse sights and lots of character.

Sydney - a great blend of the natural and the modern world.

Cape Town - cultural crossroads, interesting people, quality beaches, lovely weather, safe, liberal, a unique African city.

Miami - style, culture, vibrancy, colour, great weather, cool ppl

Amsterdam - charming, unique and quirky, sense of history

Paris - An infusion of the Old and New Europe, plenty of character, interesting communities, iconic attractions

Buenos Aires - lovely weather, beautiful people, kinetic nightlife, culture all round, very affordable, excellent shopping, somewhere a little bit different

My dream vacation - comes in four parts: #1 a charming and easy-going metropolis #2 tropical paradise #3 desert paradise #4 fascinating and vibrant metropolis with so much to see and do

Aside from that one, I would also like to go on a trip where I visit a ccool destination on each of the six inhabited continents, finishing up in a fascinating and vibrant metropolis with so much to see and do

My favorite vacation would be France. It's so far away from home and It has an exotic aura about it with all its varied locales. Besides this I think the French are very entertaining people regardless of what they think of us Americans. LOL

they have resorts in thailand and vietnam where each "hotel room" is a shack on a small island. so basically, you get an entire island for yourself. the employee ratios are as high as 7 ppl serving one guest. it's the perfect getaway, plus is romantic =P

Brazil is my favorite so far. After that, it would be Japan.
People in Italy were waaaaaay too rude.
I have been to the Carribbean as well and loved it.
