Even though economy is developing fast and stable in the recent years, Vietnam economy is still based on cheap workforce, main industries are perhaps clothes (and shoes), agriculture (rice, coffee, sea-food ...), tourism, information technology (only in the cities, almost about outsourcing) ...
Australia is not one of the biggest export markets of Vietnam, I only see Vietnam foods and clothes in Australia. The biggest export markets for Vietnam or the countries invested much into Vietnam are the U.S, Japan, Singapore ...
Infact, there are a lot of products made in Vietnam, jewellery for instance, but are sold under other foreign company names, because those products can be sold with higher price with already famous names. |

Australia doesn't do too much trade with South-East Asia because they tend to trade more with each other. we do a lot of trade with Taiwan though. and we still do trade with them. Vietnam is a major tourist destination for Australians in SE Asia these days. & i think tourism is one of Vietnam's main industries. cambodia's too. we also have a realtionship with SE Asia through humanitarian aid, but i don't know how much we give to the area. we give a lot to PNG & Indonesia i think. |

vietnam has really opened its doors to other countries in term of trade. alot of companies have opened factories and stores in vietnam and if you haven't noticed that alot of products you see in the markets today are all made in vietnam. it's mostly clothes and furniture though not so much electronics although LG is big in vietnam. |
