Any chances of legalizing Viet Tan or any other opposition political party in Viet Nam in the near future?

For once I agree somewhat with Mojave Dave...

Viet Tan is their own worst enemy. They cannot let go of the past and continue to act as if their views are the only ones that matter.

For the most part, they are out of touch with the reality of the situation and believe the people are just begging for their assistance.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The people in Vietnam have little interest in overthrowing the government or anything else for that matter because they are too busy earning a living. The VN Government, while not perfect, still makes a major effort to do the right thing 99% of the time.

Is it still Communist here in Vietnam? Yes, but not so you'd notice. Its more of a benevolent socialism really. If you want to see Communism at its worse, visit China. they have secret police following everyone.

Its not like that here in Vietnam.

What the Viet Tan needs to realise is that Vietnam will not change until the PEOPLE want it to change, and that day doesn't seem around the corner.

After 2000 years of war, what the people want is peace and a chance for prosperity. So far, they've got that...and situations improve more every day.

I seriously doubt Viet Tan would EVER be allowed to do anything in Vietnam, but IF the Overseas Vietnamese (Viet Kieu) really wanted to bring about CHANGE, the BEST way to do it is to put their wallets where their mouths are and INVEST here.

Help build the economy, build some hospitals and schools.

Oh yeah, stop living in the past.

It is doubtful that opposition parties, and especially the Viet Tan, would be allowed to participate in Vietnam’s government in the near future. However, it's very likely in the not so distant future that democracy will become a part of Vietnam’s society.

Vietnam has made exceptional progress since enacting Doi Moi in 1986, which abandoned the failed communist central controlled economy and began to gradually accept a market economy. Vietnam is now experiencing the greatest level of prosperity in it's very long history and the communists are playing it smart by continuing to build on that success and keeping everyone happy.

Vietnam’s President Nguyễn Minh Triết, Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and the current national assembly have made significant progress in cleaning up their notoriously corrupt government as well as opening up more freedoms to the Vietnamese people. Many of the actions taken are irreversible steps towards a more democratic Vietnam in the future. In trade, the Vietnamese who are living in Vietnam are generally happy with their government right now.

Personally, I believe the Viet Tam is creating more problems than they think they’re solving in bringing democracy to Vietnam. Communism will self-destruct if left alone as it has in scores of other countries. Even the communists in Vietnam’s government know that. However, this knowledge seems to be fleeting from those involved with the Viet Tam, who continues to believe they must fight a war against communism that ended over 30 years ago.

I don't think so, because according to what the Viet Tan are speaking about Vietnam, they will surely be banned in the near future.
