Well, if you are in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), you should go to Western district ( District 1) to stay the night at a bargain price. They also organize some tours to the nearest beach of VN: Vung Tau. To be honest, i've never tried such tours but becuz lots and lots of Westerners who visit VN do so, i think it wouldn't be bad.
Beautiful scenery can be seen at the heart of the city too! It doesn't cost you a penny to sightsee the city: the popular market Ben Thanh, The Central Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, to list some of the typical things in Saigon.
If having more money, you should spend travelling to other parts of the country like Nha Trang, Ha Long, Phu Quoc, Mui Ne, Phan Thiet, etc, where there are BEACHES! Love this place! |

I think if you have around 3000$ for air ticket and hotel and taxi food that is perfect.
In Saigon everything is cheap. but you have to know how to bargain and where to eat and to stay????
I suggest you should go to stay in Victoria hotel on Nguyen Dinh Chieu street is cheap and safe. or go to Thai Van Lung Street there are a lot of Hotels are cheap. around 40 or 50 $ a day.
Eat go to small Vietnamese restaurant on street side is cheap. don't go to fancy restaurant in District 1 or big hotel is too expensive. go shopping go to Citi Max or Cop Mar Supper market they are sell thing right price don't buy thing in the shop on street side they say too high price.
Go to visit Phan Thiet or Mui Ne Long Hai are clean and nice. Vung Tau is so dirty.
And remember look after your wallet. Pick pocket alot in Vietnam.
if don't know anything Please ask Police or go to the restaurant eat and ask them. I 'am Vietnamese i know very well about Saigon. |
