Anyone know anything about vietnam war (how many people died)??

100s? 1000s?

also, does vietnamese people have alot of freedom?
is life in vietnam good, moderate, or bad?
is the communist government there "harsh" or okay?
how does the government treat vietnamese?

if you're to describe vietnam's nation (IF excluded from 2nd), would it be 3rd 4th or 5th?

way too many people died (someone else posted the figures for you to read) because of the USA's paranoia of communism. if the yanks had of a kept their agreement with HCM and supported Vn instead of propping up yet another illegal government then the whole war could have been avoided. As it was, the USA was soundly beaten (yeah bring on your comments you who disagree) and Vn lost way too much in all areas, but look at her now and how fantastic the country has progressed in only a few short years.

The people are gaining more freedom on a daily basis, but many restrictions still apply.
I personally think that for my friends in Vn that their lives are pretty good, and also improving all the time.
The govt is not as harsh as it has been, as there are many more liberals in power now.
Again the govt is much more lenient towards its people now and many barriers are being reduced.

Not sure on the last question, but if you want to know if Vn is a developing country, then yes it is. This comes from the UN which has rules and guidelines on how to decide such things.

57,000.00 american dead, 300,000.00 wounded or f ked up. all to stop communism, which the country became anyways ,another US blunder by some egotistical smucks in power.

Are you looking for civilian or military casualties or both?
Here's an estimated death toll, according to answers.com:
2,300,000–3,800,000 - Vietnam War (entire war 1945–1975)
300,000–1,300,000 - First Indochina War (1945–1954)
100,000–300,000 - Vietnamese Civil War (1954–1960)
1,750,000–2,100,000 - American phase (1960–1973)
170,000 - Final phase (1973–1975)
175,000–1,150,000 - Secret War (1962–1975)
