Not only is it good it is a very beautiful country with some of the nicest people you could wish to meet, go you won't regret it. |

Vietnam is a great choice. Lots to see and do so give yourself at least 2 weeks. Best bet is to start in the North (Hanoi, Halong Bay and if time go to Sapa). Then the central area (I would personally miss Hue if you're short on time) but Hoi An is a must see. Dalat and Nha Trang are okay if you have time. Southern area Saigon (HCMC) is okay for shopping, Phan Thiet is good for beach...but nothing like as good as Boracay or other Philippine beaches...mekong Delta is great, but not as a day tip, has to be at least one night to ensure you see anything interesting such as the early morning floating market in Cai Bei. |

I have not traveled there, but my friend did. He spent 2 weeks and came home with nothing but good things to say, and lots of nice pictures. The people there were very welcoming to him. |

yes, Vietnam is beautiful country, you will have a good time. If you have time, try to visit Delta Mekong, Saigon, Hue and Hanoi. |

Absolutely! One of the cheapest countries in SEA, very friendly people, and many places to see:
Hanoi - a crazy city with several million motorbikes.
Cruising at Halong bay - a dream.
Mui Ne - small village, beautiful beach
Dalat - cool town in the mountains
Hue, Hoi An, the tunnels of Vinh-Moc, Saigon, Mekong-Delta, Phu Quoc... |

Not as tourists friendly as Thailand, nothing like Ankor Wat as Cambodia, and certainly not as laid back and charming as Laos. You are guaranteed scooters-choked up and heavily polluted cities like Hanoi and Saigon though you may find some touring value in Hoi An, but for the price of visa and everything considered, I'd go somewhere else in the region with a lot more to offer. |
