Are Vietnamese people always caring and friendly?

I think the majority of Vietnamese people are very caring and friendly. We have traveled all over Vietnam many times and have only ran in to a few bad people. Like all nationalities you have some unkind people.

Vietnamese people are quite caring towards one another, especially if they live in the same neighbourhood.
But you cant judge people on a general basis. Every individual is different. You may meet one friendly person one day, and an irritating one the next.

My answer would be that when I am in Vietnam to visit others, I find that you might meet some really kind people, and at times maybe meet some not-so-kind people. But, it's just different ways that they were raised as a child. But I met lots of kind people there

No and i was born in vietnam and left it when i was real little. People there can be extremely cunning and manipulative. They'll be extra nice and friendly when they want you to buy their stuff. And some are just downright rude! I was just in vn this Jan. and some dude who is supposed to watch the motorbike cursed at my cousin for coming from the wrong side of that parking place! And we're paying him too. But, yes there are some genuinely nice people out there. There are all types of people everywhere. Don't trust people too soon though. Watch out for yourself.

I have lived in Vietnam for nearly 2 years. It is very, very rare for me to meet someone who is unfriendly and I have benefited from many acts of kindness from complete strangers.

Of course you can't say "always" like in your question and there are many people in Ho Chi Minh City who would steal my wallet given half a chance - but surely this is true in any city in the world.

Also, some Vietnamese people can be very arrogant when dealing with other Vietnamese that they consider to be poorer or of lower social standing. But the majority are caring. In my local community this can be seen whenever someone has a misfortune. Recently one household had their roof collapse in heavy rain and the neighbours all got together and not only gave some money to facilitate the repairs but also helped with the rebuilding. This would never have happened in my country.

As a tourist it may be difficult to assess just how caring and friendly the people are - tourists tend to attract some of the worst elements, but I can assure you from living here that a high proportion of Vietnamese people are indeed caring and friendly.

not really but because vietnamese are in US ,a different country so they are just caring for each other.But u cant say that about all vietnamese ppl ,sum are differnt

I traveled southeast Asia for 6 weeks (Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore), and Vietnam was by far my least favorite. I am from the United States, but people would often push me out of the way when I was walking down the street, vendors always charged us 5 times more than what chain 7-Eleven - type locales would charge, and we had several things stolen. Basically, we never encountered as many scam attempts as we did in Vietnam, when compared to other places we went to, BUT that is not to say that ALL Vietnamese are like this. We encountered many helpful and hospitable Vietnamese.

Define "friendly and caring"...

Culture and customs CAN make it seem like Vietnamese are unfriendly and uncaring at times - such as their lack of queuing at grocery stores, banks, etc...and the way they drive here in Vietnam...

But as a people, they ARE very friendly people who rarely hold a grudge. They try to be friends with everyone...and the DO take a personal interest in your well-being while you're in their country or their home.

Some Vietnamese people are very kind but some are very not kind. For example, when the not-kind people angry, they may say really bad words.

Not all of them, but most of them are.
Vietnamese are not too polite like Americans are, but most of them are friendly (expecially the Vietnamese in the southern Vietnam).
