Are there still OPIUM dens or OPIUM available in VIETNAM?

Although Vietnam has among the strictest drug laws in the world, that hasnâ€™t stop people from buying, selling and using opium or other drugs. I had a problem with a bunch of losers hanging out near my house in Ha Noi who did nothing but smoke opium from the moment they got up till way late at night. The police wouldnâ€™t do a thing about it other than break up the group who would return the moment the cops were out of sight. I wouldnâ€™t know where you could find opium let alone where an opium den would be in Vietnam. Frankly, I wouldnâ€™t want to know because I know something that you should know.

You better ask yourself if your desire to smoke opium is worth dying for, because there are a bunch of Australians in Vietnam who are about to be executed for their drug charges â€“ NO KIDDING. If you get busted for drugs In Vietnam, drug dealers are executed and drug users are put in a filthy communist prison for so long that they would wish they were dead.

addendum: If you're wanting to experiment just one time, I would suggest trying a country other than Vietnam. Try Cambodia, Thailand or Laos.

what an interesting question huh ! Well it is hard to find it nowadays. I dont think if H'mong ppl still use it coz Kinh ppl try to explain to ethnic minority that opium is not good and burn all the fields. All what you can see are on the movies and pics in the past.

you can get anything you want but be forwarned the day after you smoke opium you'l wish you hadnt'..i've seen black men look as white as ghosts the daya sfter smoking opium... stick with beer..no doubt your time in vn will be all to short..dont wast it nursing the worst hangover you'll ever have... get up early and enjoi vn with a clear head.. it is one place where you can surely be high on life....anyway if you must try something try smoking the bamboo pipes they have on the streets of old ha noi... its a grear tradition ,they're all over [look for the bamboo pipe laying on the street next to a short stool],its cheep, its leagal [ tobac co] and it will spin your head and make you feel awfull just as if you smoked opium...

Forget the smoking and have a great Bia Hoi HaNoi. Jail for life or execution is not fun. Cheers C
