Most Vietnamese are either Buddist or Catholic. If you go to Google, Yahoo or Webcrawler search engine and ask the question you might find an answer about Baptist. Good Luck. |

Christianity as a whole is worshiped by a minority of Vietnamese, and those who are Christians are predominantly Catholic. Baptists are probably the most recognized of all the Protestant Christian faiths in Vietnam. The Nazarenes and Mormons have a presence in Vietnam as well.
I heard there is a Baptist church near West Lake in Hanoi, but I've never seen it or been there. It's a safe bet that there are a few Baptist churches in Ho Chi Minh City, because HCMC and South Vietnam had more exposure to Western society than North Vietnam. I would go to the Catholic church in either Hanoi or HCMC to find out where the nearest Baptist church is (that's how I found out about the one near West Lake in Hanoi).
As far as I know, the Nazarenes and Mormons don't have formal churches in Vietnam, but they send missionaries all over the country. Muslims have a mosque in Hanoi and the Champa (a minority society in Vietnam) are predominantly Muslim.
God bless you on your journey to find a Baptist church in Vietnam! |

I am not a Baptist but have some friends in Vietnam who are. I don't believe the Baptist church is recognised by the Vietnamese government, so there aren't established churches but they have weekly services in homes and clandestine places.
So you need a connection to attend a service. |

When I was in Vietnam, there was a Baptist church up on the hills and they had worshipers. Although it wasn't very popular as Buddhist or Catholic, we did have one in my town-Dalat.
Mormon in Vietnam ? First time I heard of this one.
We do have Äạo Cao Äà i mostly in the South- Tây Ninh to be exact. Cao Äà i means "high place"-the highest place where God reigns.
Like my family, the majority of Vietnamese people classify themselves as non-religious, Although we visit religious temples several times a year & grew up in Catholic school when we were at home, we worship our ancestors and pay high respect to them.
Like Chinese, we also has Confucianism. It's a complex system of social, political, philosophical and moral. Confucianism is more of a philosophy than a religion, but it has a strong influence on Vietnamese life where Taoism emphasizes on love, moderation, and humility.
Chà m are the people apparently most influenced by Islam in Vietnam but was not very popular and widespread. |
