Bed& Bfast & long term decent stay in Ho Chi min, Vietnam? |
can anyone knowing about Ho chi min give names Tel #s, addresses of decent B&B? Am informed there are 2 French guys who own such but besides them? Will appreciate if anyone can help with they know of other places? Should be close to the airport area about 5 to 10 minutes away.

There are many lodges and guest houses but standards vary. My suggestion is upon arrival, (since you say you are staying long term), find yourself a reasonable economy hotel or guest house and look around from there for what suits you. As for a cheap long term hotel that includes breakfast, I strongly recommend the Giant Dragon Hotel. Long term I have stayed there for $15 a night.

There is another just down the lane called Saigon Comfort which is similar.

It can take that long just to get a taxi out of the airport ! Nothing cheap near airport that is reasonable. More like 4 stars and above. From airport to down town is anywhere from 20 - 50 minutes subject to the time of day and traffic levels.

You would be wearing it 24 hours a day. Asia is polluted everywhere. You can not avoid it. Levels are of course lower outside built up areas, but still evident, even in remote locations. Many women wear masks resembling surgical masks. They are more of a placebo as they will not filter the sulphur and carbon monoxide and other toxic gases produced from exhaust fumes and will only filter larger dust particles. A proper mask to filter those gases are in par with those big bulky things worn by fire fighters and industrial workers. What you are asking for in practical terms does not exist.
