If the medicine is prescription, it is illegal in the US to give said prescription medicine to someone else. I do not know what the laws in Vietnam are, but it would probably be wise to check.

Yes, I think so. A few years ago, a relative of mine (about 60 yrs old) received some medicine from her sister (in Texas) who came to VN for a two week visit. I can't remember what kind of medicine it was although I helped explain to her the dosage and directions for use printed on the labels.
