Cheapest way to fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi?
Hi everyone,
I'm in San Francisco. I will be traveling to Ho Chi Minh City next Saturday and want to fly immediately to Hanoi to check out the north. Is it better that I book my ticket here in the States or should I wait and book it over there while I am in Ho Chi Minh City? I have asked my travel agency, and they quoted me $150.00 for a single ONE-WAY to Hanoi. I think that's a little expensive, and I thought it would be cheaper. I'm not sure what the going rate is.
If anyone can help me with this, that would be so awesome. Thanks in advanced!

go on line. its easy and fast. Be sure to check your baggage allowances because this is where they stick it to you. No refunds of course and if you miss your flight you are out the money.
Hey sorry... after taxes $72 bucks

Sorry to tell you but the going price IS around $150 one way.
Prices increased due to the cost of jet fuel. Same story all over the world.
I fly back and forth from Hanoi to HCMC at least 4 times per month as I have projects down there.
You could always take the train if you're very adventurous...and slightly nuts...:)

The air fare sounds about right. You may be lucky and get a special deal but you will only get that in Ho Chi Minh....and besides that is a great place.
Don't be put off by the train idea. I did it and it was fun. Met a lot of people, shared food, saw things out the window I would never have seen from a plane. It was a memorable and worthwhile experience.
To really enjoy a country...avoid tourists.

Yes!!! $150 US dollars is expensive..
I was there last mid. August and travel to Hanoi on a round trip only $1million 600 thousand Viet Dong..which is about $100 US dollars..
I would contact travel agency in Ho Chi Minh City and have them book you a flight to Hanoi..
I believed there are only two airlines that fly to Hanoi..Vietnam Airline & Jetstar (formerly know as Pacific Airline).
Good luck and have a good trip!!
