Cheapest way to get to Hanoi, Vietnam from Hong Kong?
Im planning a trip to Vietnam this November for 2weeks and the cheapest flight i found near that area is 290 pounds return but to Hong kong. My question is. Does anyone know a cheap way of getting from Hong kong to Hanoi return?
The cheapest way is probaby by train via China. From Hong Kong you'd need to cross the border to Shenzhen and take a train to Nanning, then get the train to Hanoi from there. However you won't be able to buy tickets in advance so you might get held up if travelling at a busy time. This would be the adventurous route.
You could travel by budget airline if you stop off in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok. Look into prices with Jetstar, Tiger Airways and Air Asia. Also consider the possibility of flying from Macau (1 hour by boat from Hong Kong) rather than from Hong Kong itself.
