There are good and bad people everywhere. A part of how much trouble or how much happiness comes depends on how you live and interact with the people and the country. Say you are a philanthropist and are humble you will be received as such. If you are arrogant and rude then... well you know what to expect. You took a mission with so many unknown may be something questionable. I hope you at least learn some of the language and know the law of the land asap.
