2 Next weeks, my parents and I intend to go to Vietnam. I know we can go to Vietnam embassy to get visa on arrival, but it takes a long time. Is there any other way to get visa to Vietnam?...
I like to bring them via ship. Do i have to pay for tax for it if anyone know? And does anyone know a good ship or any transportation company that would love to take the offer? I am looking to get it ...
There were "draftees" - Those who were drafted into the military. Some went to Vietnam.
There were "reservists", who were fortunate enough to get to join the reserves and, for the most part, avoided active duty. There were some reserve units that were activated and sent to Vietnam.
If you were a "reservist" and didn't attend your required training, you could be "activated" and might have ended up in Vietnam.
Cheers,

I doubt it. I know a guy in the Marines at that time who served in a base in Maine. Most probably did, but you still need people at home too. Think of all the protests you see on TV from the Vietname War. Usually there are National Guard/Reservists breaking up those demonstrations.
