break down the question....

What are the changes you have witness or experiences from the visits? (internal + external influences)

1) Social (social norms / behaviour)
2) Culture (Beliefs)
3) Economical (wealth / living conditions)
4) Goverment (policies / regulations)
5) Geographical / environmental (buildings / farms - countryside)

Conclude by relating the above mentioned to yourself...and state your observations / feelings.

Hope this helps...

Cheers...n good luck

It definitely makes a difference- trust me. It's the same for me except I was 10 and then 16 when I went back this summer. The first time maybe it was about just seeing your family and visiting the places and you saw how poor the conditions but you really didn't bother because hey! you were ten. Now when you go back, there are definitely different emotional issues. You actually understand how much work and difficulties your relatives have to endure. It's more personal to you this time because all the kids you used to play with back then can't anymore because they're around your age and over there, thats when they starting their own lives away from home. If they can't make it in school or afford it, then they have to go to work. Also, you understand and feel a stronger connection to Vietnam. Despite all the bad things you may see and you truly feel more grateful, but you simply can never forget it.

think about how you have grown since then- emotionally, phycologically, ect. You can even add pgysical attributes if you want. What did you see, and how did you think about them? how do you think about them now? why the changes?

Good Luck!

Ultimately you are the only one who can decide this. Definitely analyze your memories from both visits and find what struck you as different. As an 11 year old did you look at vast fields and think of cows grazing, while at 17 you thought of men being killed across the very same field? At 11 did you fully realize what the environment in Vietnam has gone through because of the war, or did you at 17? Did either experience open your eyes in a new way?
Also, just the fact that you are older & more mature helps shape your experiences differently. Just try to find in your memories what set apart your visits, and you'll be good to go.
Hope this helped!
Best wishes!!
