In my opinion, Hoan Kiem Lake (or Sword Lake) is the prettiest.
I think many people have the same idea.
It's pretty because:
+ it's in the heart of Hanoi
+ it's ancient beauty has close link with the Capital's 1000-year history, no lake has a such beauty like that.
+ there're many historical monuments around the lake.
+ Lots of trees surround make a Green zone, healthy & pleasant.
+ No skycraper's has permission to exist near this lake, other buildings only can reach the limit height, so you can open your view clearly.

Definately Hoan Kiem Lake. I live on Tay Ho, which is a nice lake, but Hoan Kiem is really lovely, surrounded by trees that often have branch ends almost touching if not touching the water. It is really pretty when there is a fog and you can just barely see the little temple on the island in the middle. A very popular spot for Vietnamese and tourists alike.

Hoan Kiem is of course the most popular and traditional one.Its always nice 6 am or 6 pm.But i also personally prefer the west lake because of its coolness and its atmosphere. There is also one lake of which i don´t know the name it is next to the Road "Kim Ma"+ the zoo.Its a smaller lake but beautiful atmosphere.
Anyone knows the name ?
