I hope that someone else can also provide you with a more thorough answer, but if that doesn't arrive, I hope I can help you with a little bit more. I should tell you that I was raised in America and have not had proper teachings about the Vietnamese language. The information I provide here is through what I have learned from my family, who were educated in Vietnam.

I would say this is a supplement to the previous answer. The prior submission was "chua yeu bang." I would like to explain each word. The first word, "Chua," is Jesus. "Yeu" is love. "Bang" is friend.

I would like to offer an alternative. Just as the American language has synonyms, so does the Vietnamese language. In place of "yeu," I believe you can also use "thuong."

I believe the Vietnamese do not have a polite word that specifically means "you." There is always another word in place of "you," such as big brother, younger sister, maternal aunt, or paternal uncle. This is how people politely refer to each other. So, I believe the closest you'll ever get to "you" would be "friend."

I wish you luck and you should really find a person that speaks Vietnamese to pronounce these words for you.

Polly
"Jesus loves you" in Vietnamese is "Chua yeu ban".
And I don't know how to pronounce it here. Speaking Vietnamese is very difficult, you know.
