How much does the m16(vietnam era) cost now.where could i get it?
Civilian version of this is a AR15 non automatic of course. In states that is legal to own you have to pay $1500- $2000 USD and up. AK47 version made in China would cost $700.

almost any gun shop in the usa can get one.. i think they are about $700us

Go down to the USMC recruiting office, tell them you want to sign-up for 6, and they will get you all cozy and friendly with the M-16. The only major difference between then and now is probably more variations in terms of configuration, and the modifications that were done early on to try and get that matty matel piece of * to work.

go with the AK-47. in the vietnam era, the ak-47 was russian made. the m-16 was notorious for jamming. u got some vietcong running at you with and ak-47 facing off a marine with an m16? my money is on the VC

You can't legally buy a Vietnam era M16...It's an auto (tri burst or better), which is illegal in the US. As per the first post, a Vietnam era AK is also illegal (auto). There are some pre ban AK's that you can get now...But you can never buy a true M16 (because they all fire in tri bursts)...as they're still military issue.
If you want a similar rifle I'd go with an M4...which ranges somewhere between $800 and $2000, depending on the condition. But you will never legally acquire a true Vietnam era combat rifle, as they were all auto (3 shots or more with one trigger pull). BTW, most rifles used by the US military in 'nam were M14s.
PS...the Russian AK-47 is the best ever made, followed closely by the Italian version. If you have to stoop as low as the Vietnam AK you may as well just buy the Italian SKS...the weapon is fairly equal, but the SKS's longer barrel gives a more accurate shot....
Everyone is right about it being in 'Nam, and being in the Corps...but the truth is it's an auto. And autos are BANNED in the US unless you owned it pre-ban (and even then there are exceptions...there are always exceptions).

why u want the m16? the vietnamese ak-47 kicked m16 butt
