it depends on the life style you plan to say in. if you want luxary then bring alot of money if not just bring reasonable amount for a holiday cause everything in vietnam is pretty cheap.

all you want, i think they ask you to vouch for no more than $3,000us but know one checks... speaking of checks, traveres checks are now easily cashed at many places[banks and travel agencyies, not resturaunts]. also atm machines are all over the tourist areas now as is western union. most hotels will take charge cards now.... none/ little of this was available 6-8 yrs ago. and if your traveling "the back packer circit" you dont need much...$20-$30 a day.. i've met europeans that bugget at $15us a day.

This would depend on the lenght of time you'll be staying there. The last time I visited that part of the world for 2 weeks, I spent over $5,000 on lodging, entertainment and food.

I just got back from Vietnam 3 days ago, it realy matters how you what to live and how long you will be staying. I brought an about 2 grand becouse i wanted to be their for one month and live well. I would just hire a driver it is much better. and you realy can't rent a car. Its a lot different world

i don't know

Depends on what you plan to do over there. Bring credit cards, spend as much as you can afford. For room, board, and some entertainments at:
2 stars hotels you need $20-$30 per day
3 stars and above you need at least $50 per day

Saigon Nguyen
The US Custom allows its citizens to carry out of the country no more than $10,000.00

depends on the expense, like car rental, food, hotel, entertainment.. etc.

so estimate the price and then save up that much money, or a little more.
