Hello, i will leave from hanoi to go halong, what is the best way? A will stay there only one night and one day, where can i stay (hotel)?

Book your trip to Halong via the hotel where you stay in Hanoi. Or there's bus to Halong - the station is in the city center - take a taxi will be easier from the hotel to reach the bus station - The bus cost around 120.000 dong per person.
If you want to sailing around Halong bay - you can stay either at Cat ba Island or in the boat itself. - Different experience ;)
3 days - 2 nights will cost you US$ 45 including hotel transfers, boat, visiting cave, lunch, dinner, hotels, kanoing, boat transfer. It's all worth it. |

If you are in Hanoi it is no problem to get to Halong. All of the hotels will be happy to supply you with a package tour. You don't just want to go to Halong and not go out on to the water. That's where the fun is. There are many different boat companies but I prefer Buffalo tours. also... there are many different packages that you can choose from. From day tours to long term cruises. You shouldn't pay more than $100 and probably a lot less for a 2 or three day cruise. It is really beautiful and you will have a great time. The Cruise comes with all your food, (you have to pay for your booze) a sleeping cabin on the boat and usually an overnight stay in a hotel on the island. Diving, snorkeling and cave exploration are usually included as well. The Karsk terrain is really beautiful.
Don't worry about it this is and easy ticket to come by. |

Halong Bay is approx a 3 hour drive from Hanoi. You can do private tours or jump on the bus with other travelers and see the Bay. Really depends on you and your budget.
O/night tours can be as low as 20USD per/pers. Private tours are obviously much more expensive, depending on Accommodation etc. But still very affordable!
My recommendation is to stay overnight on the boat. Really nice and most tours will include dinner/breakfast. Drinks are normally available at an extra charge.
Visit any travel agent in the Old Quarter and they can book tours for you. Most hotels will also have a booking service.

The best way to go to Halong Bay from Hanoi is by car. You can hire a car with driver to take you there. The price is under 100 USD for a 4 seater.
