Do an advanced search to see what other people have said in response to similar questions. I recently returned from VN, having lived there for 4 years. The people are great, the food it great. There are lots of interesting cultural sites, and the culture itself is very interesting (to me). I have traveled rather extensively in VN and really like it, but the climate is not so pleasant. Ha Noi is hot and humid, or humid and hot, or cold and clammy. But there are a few days when it is really pleasant. |

Everything, the food was GREAT, there was a lot of interesting places to visit, so many things to see, temples and gardens, lots of shopping to do, great deals! It was a little hectic, but as Viet Nam was not my first Asian country it did not bother me, but it could shock the hell out of a first time traveler. |

I just got back from Vietnam December 28th, I went to South Thailand, Laos and vietnam for 44 days. I flew to Hanoi first, tried snake and dog;) the snake was great I ate the heart and drank the blood, the dog is an aquired taste i'm sure but it wasn't too bad. I also went to Ha Long Bay, took a 2 day cruise it was awesome!!! Beautiful scenery!!!!! Nha Trang was my favorite, beautiful beaches and the people were the friendliest, loved it here didn't want to leave.
Saigon was nice but I was there for Christmas and it was extremely crowded. I tried eel and I ate duck's eggs everyday(love em). The shopping was the best here I thought, although it was very hot!!!!
A couple places I wanted to go was Sapa, Hue and Da Nang, maybe next time!!!! |
